About This Pub

Ah, Twelve 25 on the Fish Quay – it's one of those places that really captures the charm of a riverside hangout, doesn't it? Picture yourself settling in with a coffee or working through their cocktail list while soaking up the views of the River Tyne; it's just perfect for a casual meet-up or a bottomless brunch that hits the spot. The food's mostly a winner, with standout breakfasts and brunches that folks rave about, and the staff often go the extra mile to make you feel at home with their cheerful service. But, let's be straight, it's not flawless – there've been times when dishes came out overcooked or orders got muddled, and a few folks mentioned run-ins with less than friendly vibes that could sour the mood. Still, with its high marks overall, I'd say it's well worth popping in for a relaxed pint or a bite, as long as you keep expectations realistic and maybe check in advance. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers looking for a bit of everything, good and bad included!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is generally spot on, with brilliant breakfasts and bottomless brunches that keep folks coming back for more.
  • Staff are often friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and adding a real personal touch to the experience.
  • It's got a fantastic location right on the Fish Quay, with lovely indoor and outdoor seating options that catch the sun and offer great views of the River Tyne.
  • A cracking selection of drinks, including irresistible cocktails that pair perfectly with a relaxed catch-up or lively night out.
Cons
  • There have been a few grumbles about inconsistent food quality, like overcooked steaks or wrong orders that can put a dampener on things.
  • Service isn't always up to scratch, with some reports of unfriendly interactions or meals that don't quite live up to expectations.
  • Occasional slip-ups, such as hard eggs or other mix-ups, might leave you a bit disappointed if you're not lucky on the day.

Decent place for a brunch. Wide, safe and appealing menus. The honey and halloumi fries were moreish. The Korean style beef tacos were tasty. I never find tacos good value for money though.

A lovely night at Twelve Twenty Five tonight. The staff were amazing, so happy, helpful and friendly, fantastic food, the cocktails all looked incredible (even though I didn't have any) and the biscoff cheesecake was absolutely beautiful. Oh and the playlist was spot on in the background. Honestly have nothing but good things to say. Got 2 lots of starters because they didn't realise they'd already brought ours out and free dessert because it was our anniversary and birthday. We were stuffed but they insisted. We're already planning on coming back but maybe try breakfast next time

First time here after my wife and daughter raved about their previous visits and my experience lived up to the hype. Food was superb. The cheesy garlic bread isn’t something I would usually order let alone enjoy but together with the chicken tikka the starters were superb. We shared a twelve25 Flatbread, a really generous amount of meats which were all beautifully cooked and so tasty, the portion is so generous we couldn’t quite finish it. Last but not least the staff were so friendly and professional which rounded off a great night. Can’t wait to return.

3 of us went for the bottomless brunch and it was brilliant. The food was AMAZING!! I dunno about King Prawns, they were more like GOD Prawns absolutely enormous. Katie was brilliant, we had been allocated the high table but we had a shorty with us and she couldn't climb up onto the chairs, so even though it was busy she managed to move things around for us and push a couple of tables together so we could sit at a lower table. We upgraded to cocktails and they were lovely. Pics don't do justice
