About This Pub
Oh, what a treat Walthamstow Trades Hall is – it's got that genuine, heartwarming community spirit that just draws you in, like chatting with mates over a well-poured pint. From the glowing feedback, it's clear the events are the real stars, whether it's a buzzing concert or a cosy book club night, all wrapped up in an atmosphere that's friendly and full of energy. The staff really shine, making sure you're well looked after, and it's brilliant how they cater to families with kid-friendly touches, which isn't something you see everywhere. Prices are spot on for a good night out without breaking the bank, and it's packed with young locals and newcomers adding to the lively buzz. That said, it's not without its quirks – the place has a bit of a rough-and-ready feel that adds character but might put off those after something more refined, and sorting out the opening times can be a bit of a faff with the website not offering much help. All in all, if you're after an unpretentious spot in Walthamstow for a laugh and a chat, it's well worth a visit, but keep in mind it might close up earlier than you'd hope.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially with all those fantastic events like concerts and book clubs – it's a real community hub that makes you feel right at home.
-
Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure everyone has a brilliant time, just like in the reviews where they looked after guests beautifully.
-
Drinks are well-priced and there's a good selection, including non-alcoholic options, making it accessible for all sorts of folks, whether you're out for a pint or something softer.
-
It's wonderfully welcoming to families and kids, with a charming, inclusive vibe that sets it apart from your typical bar – think soft play and a relaxed setting for all ages.
-
The place has that authentic, old-school social club feel, perfect for mingling with locals and enjoying affordable fun in the heart of Walthamstow.
Cons
-
It can be a tad rough around the edges, giving it a no-frills charm, but that might not suit everyone looking for something more polished or modern.
-
The website is a bit sparse and not very helpful, so you might need to pop in or check elsewhere for the latest on events and hours.
-
Operating hours seem a bit inconsistent or early-closing at times, which could be a downer if you're hoping for a late-night session.

What a great evening at the Stoned on Love event. Great acts, awesome atmosphere and the staff looked after us all beautifully. Can’t wait for day 2. Get down here if you can for an unmissable experience
I didn't eat there but the staff and the atmosphere was great last night. I went to a concert and had a nice evening.
Great little sociol club whose membership has gone up 60% .cheap drinks and lots young locals familiesnew to area coming in. Friendly atmosphere and drinks well priced for the pocket. Good to visit when vintage fair is on too.
I made my first visit to Trades last night, for a Rock & Roll Book Club event that I was co-hosting and DJ-ing at, and quite simply, I fell in love with the place. I live in Yorkshire, and its “old school social club” put me in mind of similar venues up here, like Leeds Brudenell, York Crescent and Hebden Bridge Trades. The other thing that impressed me was the warm and super-friendly atmosphere - I’ve not experienced anything like it in a London venue before. Everyone there, staff and punters alike, made me feel welcome, and at home. I look forward to coming back!
What a gem in the heart of Walthamstow. Yes it's a bit rough around the edges but that's all part of the charm. I've never been somewhere where kids are welcomed so much - they even had soft play items out on the dancefloor. They sold a few non alcoholic cider and beer options which suited me. Spacious rooms and tables. Friendly staff. Oh and we ordered yard sale pizza and was able to bring it in to the Trades Hall and eat at our table. I believe the yearly membership is around £50 or £60 and gives you cheap drinks. Although the drinks were very reasonably priced as it is. Keep track of what they have going on, it's always an eclectic mix of events to suit everyone.
