About This Pub
Ah, Goose Walthamstow – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its lively vibe, especially if you're a fan of live sport or just fancy a well-poured pint after work. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are an absolute gem; they're polite, efficient, and make you feel welcome straight away, which is just what you want on a Friday evening catch-up. The selection of beers and ciders is spot on, with plenty of craft options at prices that won't sting too much, and they've got some brilliant deals on food like chicken wings or sharing platters that pair perfectly with the match. Plus, the beer garden's a nice bonus for when the weather's playing ball, and it's great that dogs are welcome too – makes it feel more community-oriented. On the flip side, though, a few people have mentioned that the place isn't always as tidy as it could be; things like sticky tables or dodgy toilets can take the shine off an otherwise good night. And while the food's affordable, it doesn't always hit the mark in terms of quality, so you might want to stick to the drinks if you're not in the mood for a gamble. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed hangout, especially near the station, but I'd say it's worth going in with realistic expectations – the highs make it worth a visit, and with a bit more polish, it could be even better. If you're heading that way, give it a go and see what you think!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are always friendly and competent, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's a top spot for watching live sport with loads of big screens showing everything from football to rugby, perfect for catching the big games with mates.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of craft beers, cask ales, and even artisan spirits at reasonable prices, so you're spoilt for choice without breaking the bank.
-
Great deals on food and drinks, like affordable wings and sharing planks, plus specials that make it easy to enjoy a night out.
-
The beer garden and dog-friendly policy add a lovely touch for those sunny days or if you're popping in with your furry friend.
Cons
-
Some areas could do with a bit more attention to cleanliness, like sticky tables or unkempt toilets, which might put you off after a while.
-
The food doesn't always live up to expectations for the price, as a few folks have mentioned it's not quite worth the spend.
-
It can be hit or miss on atmosphere – sometimes it's a bit quiet when you'd expect more buzz, or you might need to get there early to snag a seat during events.
-
Facilities like the hand dryers in the loos seem a tad outdated and could use a refresh to keep things feeling fresh.

Looking for a nightcap with friends on a Saturday night near the station on the way home, we came across Goose. There are lots of big TV screens, thankfully silent. Nice tables and chairs. Background music is modern but not too loud
Pretty quiet for a Saturday? Staff friendly and competent. Drinks and prices ok. Some odd characters, but this is a city pub.
Decent pub with a good variety of beers and ciders at a reasonable price. The staff were polite. Calm atmosphere when watching football, with plenty of screens. Must be there early or reserve a table to get a seat
You must go there, very cheap place. Great service, lots of screens to watch football.
And great deals on drinks.
This place looks great! Certainly one of the more upmarket Goose pubs. Had a great time here and totally intend to visit again.
Thank you for your hospitality
The service was good very friendly staff.
The facilities I have to said very poor tables very sticky no clean and the toilets wasn’t any paper and the hand dry well I think needs to be change and a bit more tidy up with some air freshener.
The food well with that money I have spend wasn’t worth it for me the burger was ok the chips honestly looks from a frozen bag not even taste fresh potatoes very poor the chicken wings again looks like been cook from a day before and just been reheated if wasn’t for the sauce it won’t give a taste as they was so dry and tasteless.
Do I recommend well I do if you are passing by and want to watch a game? And have a drink but to eat there no really for me and they money to spend there is no worth it
