About This Pub

You know, when I think about Wagley's in Aberdeen, it just brings a smile to my face – it's one of those pubs that feels like a proper local haunt, where you can pop in for a quiet pint during the day or dive into the buzz on weekends. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays is an absolute highlight; it's all about having a good laugh with no nonsense, and the folks running it make sure everyone gets a fair go. If you're into rugby, it's even better – they've got themed nights and teams that really get the place going, along with darts for a bit of friendly competition. The staff come across as genuinely warm and attentive, which always makes a big difference, and the prices are just right for a casual outing. On the downside, though, it does tend to fill up quickly on busier evenings, so you might end up jostling for space, and the food's nothing fancy, just simple snacks if you're peckish. Plus, without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the latest info online. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed or lively get-together, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area and up for some entertainment.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant, full of friendly characters and a real sense of community that makes you feel welcome right away.
  • Karaoke nights on Fridays and Saturdays are a proper laugh, with no favouritism and not too long a wait for newcomers to join in.
  • It's a top spot for rugby fans, with themed events and teams that get everyone buzzing, plus darts for those who fancy a game.
  • Staff are genuinely great – always friendly and helpful, whether it's a quiet daytime pint or a lively evening.
  • Prices are spot on for a moderate pub, and it's conveniently located near the bus station, making it easy to pop in after a day out.
Cons
  • It can get a bit crowded on weekends, which might make it tricky to find a seat or have a chat without the noise.
  • Food options are pretty basic, just the usual snacks and toasties, so if you're after a proper meal, you might need to head elsewhere.
  • There's no website or online presence to speak of, which means it's not always straightforward to check opening times or what's on.
