About This Pub
Ah, Spirit Level in Aberdeen – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at ease the moment you walk in, whether you're nipping in for a quick pint like Alistair does monthly or catching up with mates. The beer selection gets a big thumbs up, and the entertainment side of things sounds brilliant, with karaoke sessions that get everyone involved, as a few folks mentioned having a right laugh there. It's clearly a place that's managed well, with staff who remember you and keep the energy up, which is lovely to hear. On the flip side, though, their online presence is a bit of a letdown – the website's playing up, so it might be a faff to check details beforehand, and the opening times seem a bit muddled, which could catch you out if you're planning a late one. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, especially if you're after good company and a pint without the fuss, but it'd be even better with a bit more polish online. I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just pop in and see for yourself!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is really welcoming and makes you feel right at home, just like Scott mentioned after popping in after a few years.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers, perfect for a relaxed pint or two, as Alistair enjoys on his monthly visits.
-
The entertainment is spot on, with things like karaoke and a decent sound system that keeps things lively, as shared by those who popped in for a singalong.
-
It's a thriving spot with friendly faces behind the bar, keeping the place buzzing and full of good vibes, like Barry's fond memories show.
Cons
-
The website seems a bit tricky to access, with some errors popping up, which might make it harder to get the latest info before heading over.
-
Operating hours look a tad inconsistent in the listings, so you might want to double-check to avoid turning up when it's not open as expected.
-
While it's got a solid rating, there aren't many recent reviews highlighting any downsides, but that could mean it's not the most buzzing spot every night of the week.
