About This Pub

Ah, Liberty's Rock Cafe – it's one of those places in Great Yarmouth that you hear about and think, 'This sounds like a right laugh!' With its overall rating sitting pretty at 4.6, it's clear a lot of folks have had a whale of a time here. The staff really shine through in the reviews; they're described as friendly and doing their utmost, even on those manic Monday nights when it's heaving. That Tiffany lighting and the overall decor give it such a decadent feel, making it a standout spot for a relaxed pint or a lively evening. Plus, being inexpensive means you can pop in without worrying about the wallet, and it's open seven days a week until the wee hours, which is just ace for us night owls. But, and I say this as a mate giving straight advice, it's not all beer and skittles. There've been some dodgy stories, like unwanted advances from the DJ, which is pretty alarming and could spoil the fun for anyone. Then there's the odd instance where things get out of hand with some unsavoury behaviour, and it doesn't seem like it's nipped in the bud straight away. Still, if you're up for a good time and keep your wits about you, it's worth a punt – just go in with eyes wide open and maybe stick with the crowd for safety's sake. All in all, it's a gem with a few rough edges, but that's pub life for you!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and do their best to keep things running smoothly, even when the place is packed to the gills.
  • It's got a fabulous atmosphere with stunning decor, like that amazing Tiffany lighting that really gives it a wow factor.
  • As an inexpensive spot, it's perfect for a night out without breaking the bank, and it's open late most days which is brilliant for a good sesh.
  • The door staff are top-notch and handle the crowds well, making you feel secure when it's busy.
Cons
  • There have been some unsettling incidents, like reports of inappropriate behaviour from staff members, which is a real shame and could put anyone off.
  • On occasion, things can get a bit rowdy with disruptive folks around, and it seems the team doesn't always step in quickly enough to sort it out.
  • Not every visit is smooth sailing, with a couple of reviews highlighting negative experiences that linger long after leaving.

Imagine going to a place where the DJ takes your friend downstairs and kisses her unwanted. Baring in mind he has a gf and my friend was sober. Imagine what could of happened if she was drunk.

Was asked to edit this review: Great night. Girl with a tattoo scribbled across her face along with her mate ruined it. Staff were aware of the girls behaviour and chose to do nothing about it.

Food got 1 star cos I never got food and it's a pub that dont do food as far as I'm aware. Staff do their best despite how packed it gets. Mondays are the busiest days. Looks great in there and the door staff are quality too.
