About This Pub
Ah, Two Brews – what a gem in the heart of Colchester! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really hits the spot if you're after a proper craft beer experience. The range they've got is impressive, pulling in brews from local Essex spots and further afield, so you're always discovering something new and exciting. The staff know their stuff too; chatting with them feels like catching up with a mate who's just as passionate about beer as you are. And let's not forget, it's super dog-friendly, which adds a nice touch for those walks around town that end in a pint. The atmosphere is just right – relaxed and unpretentious, making it easy to unwind after a long day. On the flip side, it can sometimes seem like the team are a bit more chummy with the regulars, so if you're new, you might need to break the ice a little. Also, since it's more of a shop with a bar, space can be limited, especially when it's bustling, which might not suit everyone looking for a big, lively night out. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for us beer enthusiasts – I'd pop in for a taste and see if it becomes your new favourite haunt.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The selection of craft beers is absolutely top-notch, with a great mix from local Essex breweries and beyond – perfect for anyone wanting to try something new.
-
The staff are really knowledgeable and friendly, especially if you're into your beers; they make the visit feel welcoming and informative.
-
It's dog-friendly, which is brilliant for those of us who like to bring our furry friends along for a pint.
-
The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, ideal for a casual catch-up or a quick drink before dinner.
Cons
-
It might feel a bit more welcoming to regulars than to newcomers, so if you're popping in for the first time, it could take a moment to settle in.
-
As it's primarily a retail shop with a bar, the space might not be as spacious or focused on seating as some larger pubs, which could make it feel a tad cosy on busier days.

The best place to drink in Colchester. Everyone who works there is awesome. Dog friendly. Excellent selection.
A quick drink before a dinner and as usual, not disappointed with the selection. Top drawer brews, lovely relaxed atmosphere too. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Very nice bar staff but only if they know you. So be kind to the bar staff and eventually you'll be rewarded
Gor introduced to this place by my best buddy a few months back and back in Colchester last night we sampled many 1/3rds from the extensive and very diverse menu of craft independent beers. This place is delightful.
Jen and George were running the show. Jen is so knowledgeable on all things beer. Check it out you won't be disappointed
This is what a bottle shop and coffee bar should be! Superior selection of canned and bottled domestic and imported beers that have been lovingly curated. Great selection of rotating beers on tap and delicious coffee to drink in and speciality beans to take home. You will not find a better selection of beers to drink in Colchester.
