About This Pub
Ah, The Centurion, it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot in Colchester – picture yourself settling in with friends for a bottomless brunch, where the staff are all smiles and efficiency, making sure your drinks keep flowing without a hitch. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, folks rave about the wide array of cocktails and the solid food choices that won't empty your wallet, plus that charming garden spot is ideal for soaking up the sun while catching the latest match. It's got a moderate price tag, which feels fair for the quality, but do keep in mind it can get heaving during events, so booking ahead might save you the hassle. On the flip side, if you're popping in late, you might find the kitchen closed, so it's best for earlier evenings. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together or a lively night out – I'd say give it a go if you're after good value and friendly vibes without the pretence.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff at The Centurion are absolutely lovely and incredibly accommodating – they go out of their way to make you feel welcome, just like chatting with old mates.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of cocktails and drinks, all served up quickly and at really reasonable prices, making it a brilliant spot for a cheeky bottomless brunch.
-
The food menu is packed with great options and variety, and the outdoor garden area is a proper treat on a sunny day, perfect for enjoying live sport or a catch-up.
-
It's got that lively vibe with loads of events like rugby and football screenings, plus special offers that add real value without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
It can get a bit crowded during big events or match days, so you might have to plan ahead to snag a table and avoid the rush.
-
Food service wraps up around 9:30 PM, which means if you're out late, you might miss out on a proper meal and have to stick to drinks only.

Come here for many of bottomless brunches and will continue too. Staff so lovely and accommodating . Drinks perfect everyone. Great selection on the menus for food and drink
We had the bottomless brunch here and the service was great! Excellent selection of cocktails and they came super quickly! Vert reasonable price too!
Great bottomless brunch! Fantastic service and lovely food. They are also brilliant at serving drinks quickly and efficiently. Great variety of cocktails, lots of food options available and our waitress Roz was lovely, friendly and bubbly which was nice. The garden area outside is nice too, bright and colourful and the DJ outside was a great idea, hopefully this will be a regular thing. Would fully recommend and we have already booked again for July with friends. Thank you.
Can’t fault this place for value and service. Every time I’ve been the staff have been lovely, for example the last time I visited the bar lady saw I had a lot to carry and insisted on coming around to help me carry drinks to the table. Drinks are really competitive prices to the rest of town and the food is simple but not too expensive . The meal and drink (option to upgrade to a wine) option is perfect for a lunch break catch up with friends that doesn’t cost too much .
We had our friend's birthday party, with bottomless brunch, in centurion pub, we had amazing service from Gabby, who was friendly and lovely young lady. Thank you for making this day more special for us.
