About This Pub
Ah, The Tree—it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot in Leicester city centre. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute stars; they're chatty, efficient, and really make you feel welcome, whether you're there for a quick pint or a full evening out. The craft beers and cocktails are spot on, with deals like happy hour making it a wallet-friendly choice, and don't even get me started on that beer garden—it's a proper haven for chilling out, rain or shine, and it's great that dogs are welcome too. The food's another highlight, with tasty smash burgers and sharing plates that go down a treat with the drinks, plus they've got events and offers that keep things exciting. On the flip side, though, the food service wraps up a bit early, so plan ahead if you're after a meal. And with the no-under-18s rule after 7pm, it's more of an adults-only spot in the evenings, which might not suit everyone. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed catch-up or a lively night; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area—it's got that genuine, homely feel that makes pub visits memorable.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of craft beers and cocktails, plus deals like happy hour on Wednesdays that make it even more appealing.
-
The beer garden is an absolute gem, perfect for soaking up the sun in summer or enjoying a cosy spot in winter—it's spacious and well-used.
-
Dog-friendly vibes are a big plus; you can bring your furry friend along to the bar or garden, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere.
-
Great food options like smash burgers and sharing plates that pair brilliantly with the drinks, and they host fun events and student deals to keep things lively.
Cons
-
Food service hours are a bit limited, so if you're popping in later in the evening, you might miss out on grabbing a bite.
-
No one under 18 after 7pm means it's not ideal for family outings in the evenings, which could be a downside if you're with little ones.
-
Being in the heart of Leicester city centre, it can get quite busy, especially on weekends, so you might have to wait for a table or deal with a crowd.

They do serve food but I didn't check that on this visit.
This has much nearby in other venues and restaurants.
Prices are good and they have happy hour and cocktails at decent prices.
Great place, friendly staff, and great range of drinks. Nostalgic as i used to visit many years ago and it still has the same friendly atmosphere.
Great service from Kelly. Friendly staff. Nice atmos. Fantastic beer garden. One of the best pubs in Leicester.
Always wondered why my Leicester colleagues rave about this place, and after my first visit today, I totally get it. The bartenders are incredibly friendly, and wow—do they make the BEST cappuccino in town! For just £2.80, I had a gorgeous decaf oat milk cappuccino. Highly recommend!
Booked a table for 15 people for my daughter’s birthday. Booking process was easy thanks to the friendly Paige. Great selection of small plates and burgers. The lovely Manager Oillie greeted us as we got seated. Staff were patient with our group as we ordered separately which meant some of us forgot what we ordered! Haha. Everyone enjoyed the food! They ensured that we were looked after. My daughter and her friends had a great time. General vibe was warm and welcoming. Great for families and general customers. Definitely coming again on an adult night out to experience the night time vibe. Thanks guys!
