About This Pub
Ah, the Travellers Call – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Stockport, tucked away on the A6. From what I've gathered, it's got this inviting, old-school vibe with walls decked out in Merchant Navy brasses and bells, which really gives it that authentic British pub character. The beers are a highlight; folks rave about the Guinness and Robinsons ales, saying they're spot on for a relaxing session. Plus, there's a beer garden with a heated shelter, which is brilliant for when you fancy a bit of fresh air without braving the elements. It's also wheelchair accessible, so it's welcoming for all. On the flip side, the place is quite compact, meaning it can get a wee bit squished on busier nights, and the drink selection doesn't venture far beyond the Robinsons range, which might leave you wanting more variety. I've heard a few murmurs about service not always being as upbeat as it could be, based on some recent experiences, so that might put a damper on things. All in all, if you're after a no-fuss spot for a good chat and a decent pint, it's worth a visit, but keep in mind it might not be the place for a big night out or if you're picky about your drinks.
Pros and Cons
Pros

Cons
-
The space is a bit on the compact side, which can make it feel a tad cramped when it's busy.
-
Drink options are limited mostly to Robinsons brews, so if you're after something more varied, you might be out of luck.
-
Some recent comments suggest the service isn't always as cheerful as you'd hope – a smile can make all the difference.
-
It closes fairly early most nights, which might cut short your evening if you're looking for a late one.

Good little pub on the A6, smaller than an average Robbies pub - and somewhat cozy, with its little rooms.
Probably the best Guinness ive had locally - it’s usually a very good pint.

Person behind the bar on Sat 31st, who a smile might possibly be the end of her, would be best suited not working here.
Today, we came to this really good Robinsons pub
The pub has a good old-fashioned room interior to it it served 2 good Robinsons hand pumped ales on and a good landlady and local following today
Well done all involved
A proper pub. A Robinson original with retained charm. Excellent pint of Guinness and pub full of characters, proper people as they say.
Great traditional Robinson's pub. Has two of the biggest bells I have ever seen.( You have to see to understand one in one out in the paved courtyard.
Excellent pints of unicorn but bar might be limited for other choices.
Fantastic establishment. If you're into fine dining and a good selection of wines and malt beers , this is the place to go. Nice crowd and a great ambience. If you need assistance, ask for Ellie and she will point you in the right direction.
