About This Pub

Ah, Tite & Locke – what a spot! I have to say, it's one of those places that really stands out because of its unique location right in the middle of the station; it's like stepping into a hidden gem while you're waiting for your train. From what I've gathered from the reviews and a quick look at their site, folks absolutely rave about the incredible array of craft beers and spirits on offer – it's got everything from local brews to international picks, making it a haven for beer enthusiasts. The atmosphere is spot on too; it's welcoming and lively, with great staff who go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable, and it's brilliant that they accommodate dogs, so you don't have to leave your four-legged mate behind. On the flip side, though, the station setting does mean it can be a bit bustling and noisy with all the announcements and trains, which might not suit if you're after a serene pint. Plus, with everything wrapping up by 10pm, it might not be the best for those evening plans that stretch on. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual drink, especially if you're passing through Lancaster – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for that authentic pub experience with a twist.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely brilliant – they've got a huge range of craft beers on tap, including local favourites like Lancaster Red, which is perfect for a refreshing pint while waiting for your train.
  • It's got such a charming, historic vibe being right in the heart of Lancaster's railway station; you can soak up that old-school atmosphere and even do a bit of trainspotting with a drink in hand.
  • The staff are really welcoming and add to the friendly feel – they might even ask if you want a 'handled' glass, which is a nice touch that makes you feel right at home.
  • It's dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your furry friend, and there's outdoor seating for enjoying a sunny day or watching the world go by.
Cons
  • It can get a tad noisy with the trains coming and going, which might make it tricky for a quiet chat if you're after a peaceful evening.
  • The hours are limited, closing at 10pm every day, so if you're hoping for a late-night session, you might find yourself heading off a bit earlier than planned.
  • Being in a station, it has that transient feel with people popping in and out, which could mean it's not the coziest spot for a long, relaxed catch-up.

Awesome selection of beers. It's the kind of place that makes you wish that your train is delayed. Ridiculously great pub for a train station!

Great little hidden bar with good beers on tap and for take out. The Lancaster Red is worth a try. Nice touch being asked if you want a "handled" or straight glass!

21/09/24: lovely traditional looking steam-punk-esque pub on the railway station! Some seating in the sun at the front and an outdoor bit at the back. Quite a lot on draft. We had the Lancaster Brewery: Red ale and Siren Brewery: Lumina Session IPA. Dog friendly!

This is a curiosity- you don’t find many pubs on a station platform where I’m from (other than the big city terminals) - I understand it’s very well known. Little pub located directly on platform three at Lancaster station - signs point the way. Inside, surprisingly large bar and semi-outdoor space offer respite whilst waiting for a train. The beer was, on this occasion, a bottle of Budvar. Various other options were available, including pints. Not sure if Lancaster has a station cat, but if it did, you’d probably find it curled up in here with the drinkers. Quiet when I visited; not sure Lancaster ever really gets rowdy so probably its natural state.
