About This Pub
So, let me tell you about The Yellow Lion – it's one of those hidden gems in Greasbrough that really hits the spot for a proper pub experience. From what I've gathered from folks' chats, the place has this lovely, homely feel with staff who go out of their way to make everyone welcome, whether you're there for a quiet drink or to catch the football. The beer selection is spot on, and it's clear they take pride in keeping things fresh, which is always a win in my book. Plus, the beer garden sounds ideal for soaking up the sun, and those quiz nights come highly recommended for a bit of banter and laughs with friends. On the flip side, it might not always be straightforward to check if they're open, as their online stuff isn't quite up to scratch, and there was a mention that food isn't always on offer, so you might need to plan around that. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after an authentic Northern pub vibe, but just keep an eye on the practicalities to avoid any surprises.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant, with a warm and welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers, and the pints are always spot on thanks to regular line cleanings.
-
The beer garden is a proper treat, especially on a sunny day after a wander around the local area.
-
Quiz nights are a real laugh, packed with fun and a great way to spend an evening with mates.
-
The food is a cut above the usual pub grub – think classy options that go beyond the average chain fare.
Cons
-
It seems like there might be times when the place is closed or hard to confirm hours, which could put a dampener on plans.
-
One mention of not having food available could mean options are limited on certain days, so it's worth checking ahead.
-
The online presence is a bit lacking with website issues, making it trickier to get the latest info without popping in.

Classy food not Ur average chain style pub grub
A great place to visit after a walk around the Dam, or out in the beer garden on a sunny day or to watch the football.
An all-around pub with a great selection of beers.

Absolutely brilliant
And quiz nights are amazing so much fun
A proper village pub with a homely interior, warm and welcoming management and great clientele to boot. For the authentic Northern pub experience you can do so much worse than this gem of s61. The lines are cleaned regularly which guarantees a brilliant pint. There's a well situated pool table, clean toilet facilities and in summer the beer garden is a delight.
