About This Pub

Ah, The Crown Inn – it's one of those classic pubs that really captures the heart of a good British local, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and there's always a cracking pint on tap at a fair price, which is just what you want after a long day. The entertainment side of things is spot on too, with live music and events that liven up the place and make for a great night with mates. But let's be straight, it's not all roses; some areas do look a bit tired and in need of a spruce-up, and the prices can feel a smidge steep compared to nearby spots, which might leave you wishing for better value. Still, if you're after that authentic pub experience with a friendly crowd, it's definitely worth popping in – just keep in mind it might not be the flashiest option out there.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a great selection of ale that's reasonably priced, perfect for enjoying a proper pint without breaking the bank.
  • The atmosphere is spot on – it's a real old-school local with good company and lively events like live music.
  • It's brilliant for private gatherings or casual meet-ups, with plenty of entertainment options to keep things fun.
Cons
  • Some parts of the place feel a bit rundown and could do with some TLC to freshen it up.
  • Prices seem a tad high for the area, which might put off those looking for a more budget-friendly night out.
  • Amenities are on the limited side, so if you're after something more modern or extensive, it might not quite hit the mark.

Vile grotty hole. The attitude of the staff matches the rundown exterior of the establishment. Prices are high for the area, amenities are limited and in a poor state of repair. Better to walk the 3 minutes to the Ship just after the lights.

Great friendly local pub with the perfect host's Paul and his wife. Plenty going on... Live entertainment on a Sunday afternoon, acoustic night on a Monday & much more...
