About This Pub

Ah, The Milton Arms, what a gem in Rotherham! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its homely feel and top-notch Sunday dinners – imagine tucking into a piping hot lasagne or a proper minced beef pie with real chips, all for a bargain price. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which makes it ideal for a laid-back evening with friends. They've got a solid range of beers too, especially those cask ales that go down a treat. But, to keep it real, I did spot one review where someone had a rough experience with what sounded like reheated, overdone food, so maybe give it a go on a day when they're firing on all cylinders. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after a welcoming spot for a meal and a pint, and I'd reckon it's worth popping by to see what all the fuss is about.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is spot on – think delicious Sunday roasts, homemade chips, and hearty pies that hit the spot after a nice walk.
  • Service is always friendly and welcoming, with staff who make you feel right at home, especially on busy days.
  • It's got that cosy, old-style pub charm that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates over a great selection of beers, including some cracking cask ales.
  • Prices are reasonable too; you can get a couple of meals for a steal, making it a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly night out.
Cons
  • There was one off review about some meals being a bit disappointing – like processed food and overcooked veg – so it might not always be consistent.
  • The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what I've seen, which could catch you out if you're planning a visit.

A lovely walk over the dams then went into Milton for a meal and drink with my friends. The food was lovely, I had home made chips with lasagne, it was piping hot, the service was really good, friendly warm atmosphere. It's not the first time we've been here for a meal and we will definitely be returning. Thank you to team Milton 😊

I rang to book a meal was told they did do meals around 1800hrs on a Sunday. The meal I had constited of processed food . The meat potatoes, yorks and vegetables were not good. The vegetables were burnt the yorks were too well done with a large amount of processed potatoes there was v little flavour in the meal in fact I left 75% of the meal bcs of its taste. I'm hoping this is a 1 off bcs I had heard the meals were good. I've found out last meals are served at 1600 so I think if that is so the meal we had was just a warm up from what was left on that day . Nothing to me was freshly cooked at the time of the meal .

Review based on one visit. Honestly, I was blow away. The chap behind the bar and the lady organising front of house and kitchen were great. We had never been before. I called ahead, it's Sunday, asked if we could get a table booked and they said it was fine. We arrived soon after and the table was being set up, amazing customer service. They had an amazing quality highchair for our 1 year old too which made the meal time run smoothly. The kids wouldn't have eaten anything off the kids menu (we dont eat meat and they dont particularly eat fishfingers, fussy I know), so we split and adult Cod meal between them and they were fine with that. Food wise, top quality and homecooked, fresh. The cod was absolutly delicious, even better than the sea side. Was some great nostalgia from my childhood to visit a small local pub with good grub. Prices were fair. Good range of soft and alcoholic drinks. The only negative point, would be the lack of baby changing area. Or at least we couldn't find one. But to be honest, we just nipped out and changed our son in the car. No harm. Was great Sunday afteroon. Highly recommended.

Very tasty home cooked food. The minced beef pie, real chips, and mushy peas were delicious. Also, a steal at two meals for £12! Warm welcome and excellent service. Definitely looking forward to visiting for Sunday lunch!
