About This Pub

Ah, The Woodhouse Inn – it's one of those places that really warms you up on a chilly Worksop evening, with its friendly vibe and reliably good grub. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are just lovely, always ready with a smile and happy to sort out any little problems, which makes you feel right at home. The food stands out as a winner; think generous portions of classics like fish and chips or steak pie, and they're not shy with the specials, so you can get a bargain without skimping on quality. If you're popping in for a meal, it's spot on for a relaxed pub experience, and the outdoor garden is a bonus for when the weather plays nice. On the flip side, there have been a few niggles mentioned, like the odd room not being fully sorted – unemptied bins or a faulty bath plug – which might put you off if you're staying overnight. Plus, with no fresh reviews lately, it feels like it might not be as buzzing as it once was, and the inaccessible website doesn't help when you're trying to plan a visit. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a bite, but I'd say go in with realistic expectations and maybe give it a ring first to check it's open – that way, you're set for a pleasant evening without any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, helpful, and go the extra mile, like bringing food to your room or being understanding with any issues.
  • The food is a real highlight; it's tasty, generous in portions, and offers great value with deals like two meals for £15, making it perfect for a hearty pub lunch.
  • They've got clean and spacious rooms if you're staying over, which add a nice touch for those looking for a bit of comfort after a pint.
  • Plenty of parking available, and there's a lovely garden outside to enjoy on a sunny day, ideal for relaxing with friends.
Cons
  • There have been a few maintenance slip-ups, like bins not being emptied in the rooms or a missing seal on the bath plug, which can put a damper on things.
  • No recent reviews in the last six months, so it might be a bit quiet or inconsistent these days – always worth checking before you head out.
  • The website's playing up and isn't accessible, which makes it tricky to get more info or book ahead.
  • Operating hours aren't clearly listed, so you might end up turning up when it's not open, which is a bit of a nuisance.

The room was clean spacious and warm. The bins unfortunately hasn't been emptied since the last guests, there was also an issue with one of the bath plugs missing the rubber seal. The lass behind the bar was very helpful and brought food to the room and was very understanding

Decided to call in for something to eat. Well set out. Plenty of choice on the menu, decided to have a starter as well as main course. Bit of a shock when starter came, really generous goats cheese puff. Looked lovely and tasted even better. Had the Hunters Twist as a main, again generous serving well presented and tasty. Staff are really helpful, pleasant and friendly.

Staff was friendly. Understood I had hard of hearing, reasonable priced food but great quality of it as well. Meals were absolutely brilliant and would recommend if you love pub food. Adequate amount of parking, not sure about free WiFi but can't hurt to ask. There a garden outside to sit in though it was slinging rain that day.
