About This Pub

Ah, The Wishing Well – it's one of those hidden gems in London that you stumble upon and think, 'Why didn't I know about this sooner?' From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place really shines with its great range of drinks at prices that won't break the bank, and the staff are just brilliant, always up for a chat and serving up pints in a flash. The decor is charming and quirky, giving it that relaxed, homely feel that's perfect for unwinding after a long day. Plus, it's handy that you can pop in with your own grub or catch their Sunday fried chicken special – makes it feel a bit more flexible for a casual meet-up. On the downside, it's not exactly in the most accessible spot, so you might need to plan your route, and if you're hoping for a full meal, well, that's not on the menu here, which could be a bit of a letdown. All in all, it's a solid spot for a laid-back evening if you're after good value and a friendly crowd, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea if you're looking for something more central or food-focused.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of drinks, including alcohol and soft options, all at fair and inexpensive prices.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, making you feel right at home with their quick service.
  • Lovely, relaxing atmosphere with quirky decor that creates a welcoming vibe, especially inside.
  • They let you bring your own food, and on Sundays, there's even fried chicken from a local shop to enjoy.
Cons
  • It's a bit tucked away and not the easiest to get to, which might put some off.
  • No food served on the premises, so if you're after a proper meal, you'll have to plan ahead.
  • It has that real locals-only feel, which could make it less inviting if you're not from the area.

Great pub. Great selection of alcohol and soft drinks. Good, fair prices. Excellent service, fast both behind the bar. Lovely decor both inside and out with a great relaxing atmosphere.

Definitely a "locals pub" but a welcome stopping-off place none-the-less. Standard drinks (macro lager, Guinness, etc.) but the staff were friendly and, overall, we liked it. Although relatively unpromising from the street, the interior is quirky - the ceiling (with some corrugated-iron sheeting) and a "feature" bottle wall. A successful attempt to add a bit of character.

Not very easy to get to but worth it. Great decor and very clean. Good beer and great music. Popped in by chance and glad I did. Couldn't find their website so not sure when there's music.
