About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about The Wildfowler Inn – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, nestled in the charming village of Greyabbey with the beautiful Strangford Lough nearby. From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, the food really steals the show; think succulent steaks on their themed nights or a hearty Sunday roast that's cooked to perfection with all the trimmings – it's fresh, locally sourced, and leaves you feeling well satisfied without emptying your wallet. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a friendly word and making sure everything runs smoothly, which gives it that warm, welcoming atmosphere you crave after a day out exploring the area. On the flip side, it can get a bit hectic during peak times, like holidays, where waits for your meal might stretch on, and remember, they're shut on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan accordingly if you're keen for a visit. All in all, it's a fantastic spot for catching up with mates over good grub and a drink, but I'd suggest booking ahead to avoid any disappointments and make the most of those community events they put on. If you're in the mood for a reliable, enjoyable evening, this one's worth seeking out.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – fresh, locally sourced ingredients make for delicious meals like their steak nights and Sunday roasts, which always hit the spot.
-
Service is warm and welcoming; the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, with friendly chats and attentive care that really adds to the experience.
-
It's reasonably priced, especially with offers like the pensioners' menu, making it a brilliant spot for a casual get-together without breaking the bank.
-
They've got a great vibe with themed nights and events that bring the community together, turning a simple meal into something memorable.
-
Tucked away in the lovely village of Greyabbey, it's conveniently located near attractions, with handy off-street parking to boot.
Cons
-
There can be waits for food during busy times, like on holidays, which might leave you twiddling your thumbs a bit longer than you'd like.
-
It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so if you're planning a mid-week visit, you'll have to save it for another day.
-
While most experiences are positive, it's worth noting that the pace can vary, so popping in at quieter times might be a safer bet for a relaxed evening.

Had dinner on Saturday night. Fabulous food, good service and reasonably priced! Glad they're open again and will definitely be back regularly 😀
We have just been for dinner and the food was amazing! We had went for the steak night and it was delicious, perfectly cooked big steaks with sides and a lovely bottle of wine. I would also recommend the desert sharing board as you get a piece of everything which we loved! Summer and all of the staff are so friendly and we had such a good laugh with them! We will definitely be back 😊
In for a Sunday dinner and experienced a great shared platter of roast chicken with all the trimmings. The Squid starter with Asian Slaw was perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
Really enjoyable evening, food and service was second to none. Waitress (Summer) was very welcoming from the start and made us feel at home. Can't wait to return in the future. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone, you'll not be disappointed!

So today being Easter we booked a table for 130. Arrived at 120, we were seated and had ordered a drink and our meals by 130... a few other folk arrived after us and got seated. Was sitting chatting with the wife and the waitress, who was lovely stopped by a few times to chat. At 10 past 2 we asked was there any sign of our meals, as the couple beside us had arrived after us and finished their meals with no sign of ours. We were told that the order had only been in the kitchen 7mins. Bit of a shame as the food looked fantastic. With the table booked for 130 we were hoping to be finished by 230 as we had other arrangements made in the day, we had to leave. Would definitely have came back to try again but for the dry and frosty attitude from the girl who is possibly the manageress.
