About This Pub
Ah, The White Swan, one of those reliable Wetherspoon spots that you can always count on for a pint and a bite without emptying your wallet. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff really shine through; they're dead helpful and keep their cool even when the place is packed to the rafters, which it often is. The drinks are spot on – think fresh IPAs and other classics that hit the spot – and the food like pizzas and burgers gets a big thumbs up for being tasty and affordable. Plus, the interior's got this neat two-floor vibe with bright lights and clean tables, making it feel a bit more special than your average pub. On the flip side, though, it does get mobbed, so you might end up queuing for ages, and the racket can make it hard to hear yourself think, especially if you're after a quiet catch-up. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual night out in London, but I'd say it's best popped into after 7 when things calm down a tad – just manage your expectations, and you'll have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – they handle the crowds like pros, staying cheerful and helpful even when things get hectic.
-
You've got a great selection of beers and food that's tasty and won't break the bank, like fresh IPAs and solid burgers.
-
The interior is really charming with its two-floor design, bright lights, and a well-kept layout that makes it feel welcoming and cosy.
Cons
-
It can get incredibly busy, leading to long waits for drinks or food, which might put a dampener on your evening.
-
The noise levels can be off the charts at times, making it tough to have a proper chat with your mates.
-
While the overall rating's a bit middling at 3.7, the buzz suggests it's not always as polished as those top reviews make out.

Kind of like being at the end of the world BUT the staff were amazing despite being under lots of pressure due to tonnes of impatient people and incredible demand. At the end of the day, you can wait for 20 minutes for a drink or food. It’s not that deep. You were all great 🫶🏼
I was treated horribly in another place on Upper Street but came in here on the way back to the station and everyone, from the door staff to the bar staff, were nothing but lovely! Also my punk ipa was so fresh tasting! Glorious!
This was a superb pub for drinking, with a grand two floor interior! The curved design of the second floor above is neat and bright lights are really nice, counter is well laid out too. I appreciated the Christmas theme and pint of Angelo Poretti was solid, tables are kept clean too!
Pizzas were great, as was the Cookie Crunch with extra fruit.
Unfortunately sometimes it is so loud you can’t hear yourself think or the other person talking. Best after 7 for a quieter atmosphere.
Stopped by here before the Robert Finlay concert at the Union Chapel. A decent enough Spoons. Friendly service. Decent ultimate burger. The Mad Squirrel IPA was actually quite good.
