About This Pub
Ah, the Famous Cock Tavern – it's one of those places in Islington that just draws you in with its vibrant energy and all the goings-on. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the staff really shine through; they're warm and on point, making sure everyone feels looked after, much like how Anastasia and Mia left some visitors raving. The bottomless brunch is a real winner for a relaxed catch-up – think tasty grub and flowing drinks that keep the good times rolling. Plus, with live sport, events, and that beer garden, it's ideal for soaking up the sun or cheering on your team. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect; I've heard a few grumbles about deals like 2-for-1 cocktails not being on when expected, which can sting a bit on a packed evening full of fans. The food's generally alright, but it might not blow you away – some bits are a tad overpriced and not up to scratch, like that underwhelming burger or lukewarm chips. And let's not forget, the facilities could do with a bit more attention to keep everything shipshape. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good night out if you're after a mix of laughs and libations, but keep an eye on those little niggles to manage your expectations – it's all about that balanced pub experience, innit?
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly and attentive, like Anastasia and Mia who really made folks' visits special with their top-notch service.
-
The bottomless brunch is a cracking deal; it's full of yummy food and endless drinks, perfect for a fun day out.
-
They've got a great atmosphere with live sport, events, and a lovely beer garden, making it a buzzing spot for catching up with mates.
-
The cocktails and drinks are spot on, with offers like 2-for-1 that can make for a right good night when they're running.
Cons
-
Some deals, like the 2-for-1 cocktails, aren't always available when you'd hope, which can be a bit disappointing on a busy night.
-
The food can be hit or miss – a few have mentioned it's average and on the pricey side, like that burger that didn't quite hit the mark.
-
The toilets aren't always as clean as you'd want, especially earlier in the evening, which puts a slight dampener on things.

Our waitress Anastasia was amazing! The bottomless brunch is a great deal, the food is yummy and the booze is worth it! Loved it! Big up to Anastasia! Cheers
Me and my sister was there yesterday for a few drinks before the Robbie williams concert at the Emirates. We was told when buying cocktails that the offer 2 for 1 wasn't on as it usually is. ( the place was full of Robbie fans)
When paying for the cocktails we was told it had to be made in two transactions as the 2for 1 cocktails was still in the system on till. I think it's disgusting that they think it's OK to change offers on their drinks because of the area being busy because of the concert. I would never eat or drink in this pub again!!!!!!!
Went for a bottomless brunch today at 2pm. One of the best experiences I've had. Mia, our server was so kind and made sure we were well. The food was fantastic, 10/10, will definitely be coming back. The drinks were amazing too!
A quaint cosy cocktail bar located downstairs from the Famous Cock bar. It has its own signage and entrance from the street.
While there, we were entertained by an amazing musician called Juno Jaxxon, along with his brilliant band.
We tried the Rumbungo cocktail, which was lovely, and opted for the jug the second time round.
Staff were friendly, the crowd was mixed, and there was a great vibe. I didn't eat while there. However, I saw some super yummy food being served throughout the night.
Location is just outside Highbury and Islington Station.
All in all, a brilliant venue!
Decent bar, but food very average and expensive.
Had a burger, which had gristle and what seemed like bone in it. Tasted like a 1980s budget burger. Lukewarm as were the chips.
Also had Mac and cheese which was better.
Toilets not the cleanest at 5pm in the afternoon.
Staff friendly and welcoming.
