About This Pub

Oh, The White Rabbit is one of those pubs that just warms your heart from the moment you step in; it's this independent, family-run gem in Oxford that's all about fresh, Roman-style pizzas and a fantastic range of beers that'll keep you coming back. I love how they've nailed the basics – the pizzas are made from scratch daily with spot-on flavours, and pairing them with those local cask ales makes for a proper treat. The outdoor area with heated seats is brilliant for extending your evening, no matter the weather, and the staff are so approachable, always up for a chat or sorting you out quickly. But, fair's fair, it can get absolutely heaving, especially mid-week, and if you're not keen on a wait or limited indoor space, that might put you off. Plus, some of the bolder toppings can be a tad intense for the more delicate palates out there. All in all, it's a top spot for a laid-back catch-up with mates, as long as you plan ahead and go with the flow – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The pizzas are absolutely spot on – fresh, thin, and crispy with brilliant topping combos that hit the spot every time.
  • They've got a cracking selection of local beers on tap, including cask ales from nearby breweries, perfect for a proper pint.
  • The outdoor garden is a treat, all weather-proofed with heated seats, so you can enjoy it rain or shine without getting chilly.
  • It's a family-run spot with super friendly staff who make you feel right at home, and the option to order via QR code or chat at the bar is dead handy.
  • The atmosphere is cosy indoors with a mix of music, and it's buzzing with a welcoming crowd, making it ideal for a relaxed evening out.
Cons
  • It can get really packed, even on a Thursday, so you might have to wait or book ahead to snag a table.
  • Indoor seating is a bit limited, which could be a downside if you're after a quieter spot or it's pouring with rain.
  • Some menu items, like the four-cheese pizza, have strong flavours that might not suit everyone – that goat cheese can be a bit overpowering for some tastes.
  • Occasional mishaps, like spills from the staff, can happen, though they handle it well, it's just one of those things.
  • Bookings are only for groups of eight or more, so smaller groups might find it tricky to secure a spot in advance.

This is an absolutely fantastic pub in Oxford, and I can’t recommend it enough. I first discovered it two years ago and instantly fell in love with the place. Everything about it is exceptional, from the warm, friendly staff to the delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, and even the welcoming crowd of regulars. I returned to Oxford yesterday and was thrilled to stumble across it again, purely by chance. Their pizzas are genuinely to die for, some of the best I’ve ever had. The entire experience is seamless, whether you order at the bar or use the QR code on your table. I love the flexibility they offer when ordering your food, there is an incredible range of pizza options, the ability to customize ingredients, note allergies, and even opt for a gluten-free base. I’m already looking forward to the day they add a keto-friendly crust. It’s not a huge pub, but it has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you feel like you’re dining at home. The music is always spot on, and the atmosphere is relaxed. I had the Quattro Formaggi pizza this time, and it was easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s a generous 12 inches, and if you can’t finish it, they have little pizza boxes at the bar to take the rest home. The pizzas and drinks arrived in about 10 minutes, which is seriously impressive considering the staff were juggling bar service, taking orders, and delivering food, all with a smile. If I could give this place more than five stars, I absolutely would. Can’t wait to come back again. Thank you!

We stumbled upon this pub that also serves Italian food, and wow – the food was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere? Perfect. But the real showstopper of the day was an unexpected splash when our waiter, Mikey, accidentally baptized my wife with a drink. Now, accidents happen, but Mikey handled it like an absolute pro. He was so kind, apologetic, and immediately offered a full refund. Honestly, we left more impressed by his top-tier customer service than anything else! Huge shoutout to Mikey – you’re a legend. We’ll definitely be back (hopefully drier next time) and highly recommend this place!”

Lovely pizzas and quick service. Very busy and popular even on Thursday night. They have seating outdoors as well with heated seats. Pizza good quality and complemented well with beer.

My best pizza in Oxford quest continues. We have visited the white rabbit before and know it is a good choice. I am someone that likes a pizza with cured meat but also some spicy and vegetables. I decided to go for the mad hatter and leave it to the chef. I asked for spicy meaty and veg. What I got was probably the best pizza I have had in years. Of the top rated pizza restaurants in Oxford I confirm this as number one. Also combined with a fantastic selection of beers you can’t go wrong.

Amazing pizza ... With plenty outside space but there is also indoor seating area although limited. Place was full when arrived with many tables with reservation so I would suggest booking a table prior going to this restaurant. 4 cheese pizza has goat cheese that for my opinion is too strong for a pizza but this is a persona view.
