About This Pub
Ah, The White Lion in Rochdale – it's one of those places that's really trying to get things right, and from the reviews, it's doing a fair bit well. The landlord has put in the effort to spruce it up, with lovely decorations for holidays and a welcoming feel that makes you want to stick around. Weekends are a highlight with karaoke and disco nights that bring out a fun, lively crowd – ideal if you're after a bit of a singalong and a good chat. Plus, it's easy on the wallet, so you can enjoy a cracking pint without breaking the bank. On the flip side, though, it's a shame about those reports of rude staff and bouncers; one person had a right nightmare getting in, which could put a dampener on things. Overall, it's worth popping in if you're local or visiting, but maybe go with a group and keep an eye out for any off moments – that way, you can focus on the good times and steer clear of the downsides.

-
They've got a cracking atmosphere with karaoke and disco nights that really get the weekend going – perfect for a fun night out.
-

-
You can enjoy a top-quality pint, like the San Miguel that's been raved about, all at an inexpensive price.
-
It's a great spot for a casual get-together with a fun-loving crowd, especially if you're visiting family in Rochdale.
Cons
-
There have been a few reports of rude behaviour from the bouncer and some staff, which could spoil your evening and make you think twice about going back.
-
Entry issues have cropped up, like in one review where someone was turned away unfairly, which isn't ideal for a smooth night.
-
With an overall rating of 3.5, it's clear there are inconsistencies, and not every visit might live up to the hype.

We've visited The White Lion on weekend nights during visits to family this year in Rochdale, most recently last weekend.
We love it here. The pub has karaoke and disco nights every weekend which are really great. A fun loving and very friendly crowd, which all added to the fun we had.
The bar staff, and in particular Geezer, were fantastic.
This pub has had a bad rep in the past which is totally undeserved now. Please support one of Rochdale town centre's last remaining proper boozers. You know how the saying goes - if you don't use it, you lose it, and it would be a tragedy for Rochdale if the town lost this pub.
The current landlord is really trying with this place and it looks good. Best pint of San Miguel ive had. Give it a try. No longer a dive.
