About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The White Horse – it's one of those pubs in Hertfordshire that just hits the mark for a proper good time. From the moment you step inside, the staff are so attentive and make you feel right at home, whether you're there for a quick drink or a full meal. The food is brilliant, with seasonal menus full of fresh, tasty options that really impress, and I've heard the desserts are devilishly good. Then there's the fun side, like their monthly quiz nights that get everyone involved and even offer prizes – it's a real laugh and builds that community feel. It's got a cosy vibe with a garden for those nicer days, making it perfect for catching up with friends or marking a special occasion. On the flip side, it's not the cheapest spot around, so you might want to save it for when you're in the mood to treat yourself rather than a quick midweek stop. And, with it being so popular, you could find yourself waiting for a table if you don't plan ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a welcoming pub experience with a bit of everything – I'd say give it a go and see what you think!

Me and my friends went for a lovely dinner with some drinks (amazing friendly service and quick !) we attended the monthly quiz night which was so fun and entertaining. Was a great experience, our team drew first place and both teams won a large bottle of Mouton Cadet. (The prizes are different every month I believe) lovely staff. Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere! Can’t recommend enough ! - Sophie
Came for their monthly quiz night. Had some food and drinks with friends. A great atmosphere and amazing service from the staff. Felt very welcoming and a good community feel. Would definitely recommend coming to their quiz nights. Ben made our night amazing
Incredible birthday celebration with a group of friends on Good Friday. Staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. This is my local, and I've enjoyed many wonderful meals here, but had to come on to salute the new chef who has taken the food to the next level. The specials were absolutely delicious, I had the slow cooked blade of beef and friends were not disappointed by the most delicious chateaubriand and the asparagus risotto.
As it was my birthday we had a few delicious cocktails, and the icing on the cake was my best furry friend was able to join the celebrations too.
Thankyou for an amazing afternoon.
The customer service is excellent here frpm the minute you walk through the door. The staff are helpful, very friendly and accomodating. The atmosphere and decor is cozy and welcoming. The food is absolutely amazing its freshly cooked. I would definately recommend the pan fried wild scallops and the pan roasted harrisa crusted lamb rump.
I definately will be coming back here again to dine. It's a 20 out of 10 for me.
Dropped in for a drink, and it was a great spot! I didn’t try the food this time, but I’ve heard it’s really good—definitely planning to give it a go next time. The open fireplace gives it a cozy vibe, and the staff were friendly. Plenty of parking too, which is always a plus. Perfect place to kick back and relax!
