About This Pub

Ah, Barracuda in Borehamwood – what a gem for anyone craving a taste of the Mediterranean without straying too far from home. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is spot on; folks rave about the fresh dishes like king prawns that transport you straight to Italy, or those hearty breakfasts that kickstart your day just right. It's been a family-run spot since 2008, and that shows in the cosy, inviting vibe where the team goes out of their way to make you feel at ease. The location's a winner too – right in the thick of things, so it's perfect for a spontaneous meal with friends or a quiet catch-up. On the flip side, it does seem to quieten down after dark, which might not suit if you're after a more energetic night, and the prices are on the moderate side, so it pays to plan ahead if you're watching the pennies. Overall, it's a solid choice for good grub and a relaxed time, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – just keep in mind it shines brightest during the day.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with a fantastic range of Mediterranean dishes that keep you coming back for more – think fresh Italian pasta, Greek souvlaki, and Turkish kebabs, all made with top-quality ingredients.
  • The staff are so friendly and attentive, creating a really welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • It's in a super convenient spot in the heart of Borehamwood, making it easy to nip in for a quick breakfast, lunch, or even a relaxed dinner without any hassle.
  • They use fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the portions are generous, so you always leave feeling satisfied and impressed.
Cons
  • It can get a bit quiet in the evenings, which means it doesn't always have that lively buzz you'd expect from a popular spot, though it's still a great place to unwind.
  • With moderate prices, it might stretch the budget a tad if you're planning a regular night out, especially when you're after something more affordable.
