About This Pub
Ah, The Oak – what a gem of a pub it is, tucked away in Borehamwood. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this really homely feel, thanks to the owner and staff who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome; I mean, hearing about how helpful and caring they are just puts a smile on your face. The food and drinks stand out too – tasty options at prices that won't sting your wallet, which is always a win for a good night out. The interior sounds lovely, with plenty of seating, big screens for the footie, and music that sets the right mood without overwhelming things. It's clearly a hit for casual meet-ups or celebrations, like the folks who raved about their birthday do. But, to keep it real, the operating hours seem a tad confusing based on the details floating around, so you might want to double-check before you pop in. And without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get all the info you need upfront. Overall, though, if you're after a solid, down-to-earth spot for a pint and a chat, The Oak is definitely worth a visit – it's got that community spirit that's hard to beat.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff and owner are absolutely brilliant – they're so caring and helpful, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
You've got delicious food and drinks at really good value prices, perfect for a casual night out without breaking the bank.
-
The atmosphere is spot on, with a nicely lit bar, comfy seating, big TVs for watching the match, and a great selection of music that keeps things lively.
-
It's a welcoming spot for social events, like birthdays, with a decent pint and overall vibe that encourages you to come back for more.
Cons
-
The operating hours look a bit muddled up in the info available, which might leave you scratching your head about when it's actually open, especially on Sundays.
-
There's no website or online presence to speak of, so it's tricky to get the latest details or check menus before heading over.
-
As a local pub in Borehamwood, it might not be the easiest spot to get to if you're not in the area, potentially limiting its appeal for a wider crowd.

Great time. First time visit. Birthday do . Friendly staff, decent pint , good prices. Definitely go back.
Great local pub, awesome atmosphere. New landlord is awesome, brilliant guy.
This was my first visit to The Oak Pub, it's really nice looking from the outside and really nice inside. The bar is superb, nicely lit up, many furnished tables and chairs arranged throughout, many big TV 's that are easily seen throughout, nice choice of music. There is also a nice grassed area out front and benches to sit outside, also a nice seating area to the side of the pub. The front door entrance is ramped, wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly, there is a pool table and darts area... It's so clean. It is child friendly. The lady managing the pub is professional, efficient and friendly, friendly people. However, food is not available. Such a nice experience. Sincerely, Arnold.
