About This Pub
Ah, The Wheel Inn – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you once you step inside, with its good layout and welcoming feel that makes it easy to settle in for the evening. I have to say, the food stands out as a real highlight; folks rave about the flavours that are just spot on and leave you wanting seconds, which is always a bonus when you're tucking into a pub grub. The staff are dead nice too, adding to that homely atmosphere, and it's wallet-friendly, which means you can enjoy a night without breaking the bank. Plus, with a pool table and dart board on hand, it's ideal for a laugh with friends. On the flip side, though, I've picked up on a few niggles – like how some dishes come out looking a bit too colourful from added dyes, which doesn't sit right if you're after something more natural and authentic. The beer options are pretty slim pickings, mainly sticking to basics without any proper real ale, so if that's your thing, you might feel a bit short-changed. And let's not forget the odd service hiccup, where food orders go awry due to system problems, which can be frustrating on a busy night. Overall, it's a solid spot with plenty of charm and potential, especially with big plans in the works, but it'd be even better if they sorted out those little issues to keep everyone coming back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is spot on – I've heard it's got some mouth-watering flavours that really hit the spot, making it a top pick for a hearty meal.
-
The staff are lovely and the atmosphere feels welcoming, with friendly folks around that make you feel right at home.
-
It's brilliant value for money, being one of the more affordable spots in the area, which is always a win for a casual night out.
-
They've got fun extras like a pool table and dart board, perfect for a bit of banter and games with mates.
Cons
-
Some dishes seem to overuse food colouring, which can make them look a bit artificial and less appealing if you're after authentic tastes.
-
The beer selection is a bit disappointing, with no real ale on offer and just limited choices like John Smiths, which might leave ale enthusiasts wanting more.
-
There have been a few slip-ups with food orders not arriving due to system issues, which can put a damper on the evening.
-
It can get a tad quiet at times, meaning the place might not always have that lively buzz you're hoping for in a pub.

Great Food! Really good the flavours are mouth watering 😋 I really recommend this place... I will certainly be putting it on my re visit list!!
Too much food color on every dishes; including items like Dal makhni is totally red.
Is it authentic and nice when you use too much colour to show them delicious.
Make it naturally delicious color; Not with food color.
There is no cask ale no choice of beers very poor choice of beers No real Ale only John Smiths
Ww ordered food it never arrived because "something went wrong with the system "
I would not go here again
It's wheely good in here.....lovely staff and customers, big plans ahead, well worth a visit......
Lovely pub with good layout. Looks like Red Bass is the regular ale but unfortunately this rare treat was not on at time of visit. Infact this had disappointing foot traffic so maybe barralege is low? One of the cheapest pubs in the area, has a pool table and dart board. Hopefully more people will pay this one a visit!
