About This Pub
You know, when I think about the Oadby Owl, it's got that real community feel that's just lovely for a casual get-together or catching the big game. The decor is spot on – all fresh and inviting, and that beer garden is a gem when the weather's on your side. The staff really shine too; they're so approachable and make sure you're settled in nicely, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or bringing the dog along. It's packed with things to enjoy, like live sports on the telly and a solid lineup of pub classics on the menu. But, and I say this as a mate would, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few grumbles about the food not always hitting the mark, with some meals turning out dry or poorly seasoned, and waiting around for simple fixes can spoil the moment. Plus, it can get a tad nippy inside, so you might want to dress for it. All in all, it's a decent spot for drinks and a laugh, but if you're after a top-notch meal, you might want to keep your options open.

Cons
-
Food quality can be a bit hit or miss, with some reports of dry dishes and lumpy gravy that really let things down.

-
The deals on offer don't seem as appealing as they used to be, which might leave you wishing for better value.

The Oadby Owl pub is a beautiful establishment both inside and out. The lovely beer garden is a great spot to relax, and the extensive restaurant offers a comfortable dining experience. The pub is very clean, and the decor is amazing, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and polite, making the visit even more enjoyable.
We ordered the gammon, buttermilk chicken burger, and hunters chicken, and all were freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us with no room for dessert! However, I did notice that there isn't much choice for vegetarians. I ordered the mushroom chili, but it had a bit too much of a smoky flavor for my taste and could use a bit more rice on the side, along with some green garnish.
Overall, it's an excellent place for meat eaters, with fantastic service and a great atmosphere.
Terrible roast- dry everything and only gravy on the meat- when asked for extra gravy we waited over 7 mins to get it so our food was cold ..and I’ve never had gravy so lumpy ! Also had to ask for out table to be cleared of the refused meals! ..Never again!!!
Came here to watch the united vs arsenal game and we were early so sat right in front of a screen. I liked that the QR code let you order and settle up right away, it took time for the drinks, would’ve been faster if we got up and went to the bar.
I found it pretty cold in the bar section. Dress warm if you’re not drinking!
New decor very nice and cosy. Beautiful wallpaper. Food options OK but deals not as good as when it was a Hungry Horse. Service was friendly and polite.
Very busy, but very friendly pub. Also doggy friendly. Staff were full on busy. But took the time to find us a doggy friendly table. Bar staff were helpful and nice, told us might be a wait on the food, but it came really quickly. Football and music on, good Saturday pub. Made us feel very welcome
