About This Pub
Ah, The Wharf in Grays – what a lovely spot it is, tucked away by the river and offering that perfect mix of relaxation and excitement. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; folks are going on about the amazing roasts and burgers that hit the spot every time, all served up with fresh, local ingredients that make you feel like you're getting something special without the hefty price tag. The staff are just brilliant, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which adds to that cosy, homely atmosphere whether you're chilling in the garden on a sunny afternoon or warming up inside during the colder months. They've got a cracking schedule of events too, like regular pub quizzes and bingo nights, which are a fantastic way to have a laugh with mates and shake things up a bit. On the downside, though, it does tend to fill up quickly, so planning ahead is a must to avoid queuing or missing out, and there might be a few quirks with the opening times that could throw a spanner in the works if you're not careful. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a good time in a friendly setting – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as it's got that genuine charm that keeps people coming back for more.

-
It's budget-friendly, with affordable prices that make it easy to enjoy a meal or a few pints without breaking the bank.
-
Dog-friendly until 8 PM, so you can bring your furry mate along for the outing, and it's welcoming for families too, with play areas for the little ones.
Cons
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what's listed, which might catch you out if you're planning a late visit – double-check before heading over.
-
It can get quite busy, especially during events or on weekends, so you might need to book ahead to snag a table and avoid disappointment.
-
While it's great for families, there are limits on when children can stay, which could be a hassle if you're looking for a fully flexible spot for all ages.

I was new in town and found this pub to be the perfect place to meet great people. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and I’ve already made a few good friends here. The staff is friendly, and the drinks are excellent. I haven’t tried the food yet, but I definitely will next time. Highly recommend this place!
What a wonderful discovery! Went to walk along the sea wall to see the art and get some winter sun and came across this delightful pub. Wondeful atmosphere, staff, vibe - great food at a fab price (massively recommend the burgers and cheesecake). Spent the afternoon playing some of their games - Backgammon and Connect 4.
Luckily I don't live too far away so I can go back soon for some of their events - a really interesting mix of stuff coming up - bingo, quiz, love music and DJs.
Held a surprise 40th event in The Wharf Pub and as expected they didn't let me down. fantastic venue, fabulous decor and excellent food provided, with many of the attendees commenting on the great quality, varied selection and freshness of the grazing table provided. Music was on point for the event and a great time was had by all. Now to persuade the husband to have a Wharf style lounge at home as love the decor in the river facing bar so very much. Lovely staff, all really went out of their way to make it a success. A* Service and Venue. LC, Jan 2025
