About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Western Pub – it's one of those hidden gems in Leicester that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? With its ancient charm and that welcoming vibe, it's clear why it's racked up such a solid 4.4 rating from folks who've been there. I love how they've kept the old-school feel alive while still hosting fun events like live bands and theatre nights, which really livens things up. The staff are the real stars here; they're always up for a friendly natter and make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or enjoying one of those great drink deals. It's spotlessly clean too, with a nice garden for when the weather's on your side. On the flip side, the operating hours can be a bit confusing based on what's out there, and without a website, it's not the easiest to plan ahead. Still, if you're after an authentic pub experience without the fancy frills, this place does it just right – I'd say it's well worth a visit for a laid-back night with mates.

The place is clean and inviting, with a nice garden area and options for a quick coffee, beer, or even a burger to keep things relaxed.
Cons
-
The operating hours listed seem a bit muddled, with different times for the same day, which might leave you scratching your head when planning a visit.
-
There's no website or phone number easily available, so it can be tricky to get the latest info or book anything in advance.
-
As an older venue, it might not have all the modern bells and whistles that some folks expect, like fancy tech or a more contemporary feel.

One of Leicester's oldest surviving pubs which remains it's ancient charm. Good venue for upcoming local bands 🎸
The service i got each time I visited was a friendly one. The bartender is always willing to hear you out. They sometimes have events to spice up the day for clients. For me, the '3 for £10' drink bundle works perfectly well. You can go out on a pub date here and you'll be fine. The garden inside seats is about 10 to 20 people capacity, so you could feel the fresh air or have your fad there if you wish.
Very good place on coffee or beer and eating a burger👌. Cleany local and best staff :)
This is the place to be in the West end of Leicester, good food, theatre and delightful bar staff...go in ask for George say James sent you....and he will look after you!!!!!
The best pub theatre space I have ever been to! What a welcoming, warm and well-loved space. This theatre is run by volunteers and brings a fantastic variety of shows to its stage, and the pub below is great for a pre or post show drink 😊 Highly recommended.
