About This Pub

Oh, The Wellington's a real gem if you're after that authentic pub experience without any fuss. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's all about the welcoming staff and the lively regulars who make every visit feel like catching up with old mates. The atmosphere is just spot on – cosy and inviting, perfect for sinking a few beers on a quiet night or joining in on one of their regular events, like the Christmas do for the kids, which sounds like a proper community highlight. The beer comes out spot on too, with the landlord putting in the effort to keep things up to scratch. On the flip side, it's a shame they don't offer any food, so if you're hoping for a full meal with your drinks, you might need to look elsewhere or pop in after a bite. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, especially if you're local or fancy a change from the bigger chains – just keep an eye on those opening times to make sure you're not caught out!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and regulars are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's got a lovely, cosy atmosphere that's perfect for settling in with a few pints and enjoying a relaxed evening.
  • They've got a great selection of events and activities going on, like the children's Christmas party, which adds a real community feel.
  • The beer is well-kept, and the landlord clearly cares about maintaining high standards, so you can count on a decent pint every time.
Cons
  • They don't serve food, which might leave you a bit peckish if you're after more than just drinks – perhaps plan to grab a bite elsewhere first.
  • The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what's listed, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any disappointment on arrival.

Amazing pub, fantastic people and amazing landlady who goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Children’s Christmas party was amazing as usual and the effort never goes noticed
