About This Pub
Ah, The Navigation Inn – it's one of those classic spots that just feels like a proper local haunt in Blackburn, you know? From what I've gathered, the beers are an absolute highlight; they've got a great range of real ales that are well-kept and won't break the bank, which is always a win when you're settling in for a chat. The staff and the regulars really make the place shine – everyone seems so approachable and chatty, turning a quick drink into a proper night out. Plus, with all those events like pool nights and the Sunday Funday, it's got that lively community vibe that keeps things interesting. It's dog-friendly too, which is brilliant if you're out with your four-legged friend. On the flip side, the website's a bit messy with some odd dates and not much detail, so you might have to rely on word of mouth or a quick call to sort out the plans. Food-wise, it's mostly straightforward stuff like sandwiches, so if you're hoping for a hearty dinner, this might not be the spot. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint or a bit of entertainment, especially if you're near the football ground or the train station – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as long as you keep expectations realistic for a traditional pub.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
Fantastic selection of real ales and beers, including well-kept Thwaites options that are reasonably priced at around £4 a pint – perfect for a casual catch-up.
-
The atmosphere is spot on, with super friendly staff and locals who make you feel right at home from the get-go.
-
Loads of entertainment on offer, like weekly events, killer pool nights, and a Sunday Funday with free pool and jukebox – always something to liven up the evening.
-
It's dog-friendly with their own pub dog Teddy, which adds a lovely touch for anyone popping in with their furry mate.
-
Handy location near Mill Hill train station and a short walk to the Blackburn Rovers stadium, making it ideal for a pre-match pint or a quick stop after travels.
Cons
-
The website seems a bit outdated with some wonky dates and info, which might leave you scratching your head about what's really on offer.
-
Food options appear limited to things like sandwiches and breakfast butties, so if you're after a full meal, you might need to look elsewhere.
-
As it's unclaimed on Google, it could mean things aren't as well-managed or updated as they could be, potentially leading to the odd hiccup.
-
Operating hours have a few confusing entries, like varying Sunday closings, so it's worth double-checking to avoid turning up at the wrong time.

Couple of real ales. One Thwaites cask ale, that has been well kept. Good real ale £4 pint. TV showing football.
A very friendly pub with a couple of well looked after real ales, well worth a visit!!
Popped in whilst on a trip over there and it was a pretty impressive visit, with a great selection of beers and real ales all very reasonably priced. There were food and snacks and both the staff and locals were friendly. Ideal for any visiting football supporters as its only a short walk to Ewood Park but definitely worth a trip on its own
Great little pub, fantastic hosts. Super atmosphere. Really enjoyed our night out here.
Thanks guys xx
Absolutely superb pub. The beer is excellent and the locals are friends straight away. No questions just conversation. You can't ask for more in a pub. I will 100% visit the navvy again.
