About This Pub
Ah, The Watersedge – it's one of those places that just feels like a hidden gem by the canal, doesn't it? From what I've gathered, the food really steals the show; imagine tucking into those sizzling steaks or a hearty brunch on a lazy weekend morning – it's all about that comforting, satisfying grub that keeps you coming back. The views are an absolute delight, adding a peaceful touch to your pint or cocktail, and it's clear the folks running it have put in the effort to spruce things up, making the atmosphere even more inviting for everything from casual meet-ups to big celebrations. On the brighter side, the team sounds genuinely lovely, always ready to make your visit memorable, whether you're just popping in for a drink or sorting out accommodation for the night. But, let's be honest, it's not without its quirks – the lack of clear operating hours can be a bit of a faff when you're trying to plan ahead, and the website could do with a bit more polish to make it easier to get the lowdown. All in all, though, it's a solid spot that does a lot right, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a warm, friendly pub experience with a dash of canal-side charm.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think sizzling steaks on hot granite stones, juicy burgers, and a cracking full English breakfast that hits the mark every time.
-
It's got these stunning canal views that make it a proper relaxing spot for a pint or a catch-up with mates, especially on a sunny day.
-
The staff are so welcoming and on top form, always going the extra mile for events like celebrations or gender reveals, making you feel right at home.
-
They've put in some great upgrades to the venue, creating a cosy and improved ambience that really enhances the whole experience.
-
The accommodation is a nice bonus if you're staying over, with comfy beds and clean rooms that get high praise from visitors.
Cons
-
The operating status seems a bit unclear at times, which might leave you scratching your head about whether it's open or not.
-
There's no specific info on opening hours, making it tricky to plan a visit without double-checking first.
-
The website feels a tad repetitive and promotional, so it doesn't always give the clearest picture of what to expect before you head over.

A brilliant local spot that beautifully hosted our gender reveal and serves as a great place to meet up with friends over great food and drinks.
Lovely views of the canal and the investment in upgrading the venue has made for even better ambience and service.
Would highly recommend.
1 night stay prior to an early flight from Heathrow. Great accomodation, we had the canal view room, very comfy bed. Room had sofa, fridge, table and chairs. Bathroom had corner bath with shower over. Good value, clean comfortable accommodation. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely. Well presented, tasty food. T5 is less than 4miles/15 min drive away.
The room for four by the canal is spacious with two double beds, TV, private bathroom, small fridge and kettle. Monday to Friday breakfast is in the room which is ceral, croissant, yogurt coffee and tea. On the weekend it is served in the restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and beautifully decorated. The food is excellent, I can recommend the lamb shank. All the staff are friendly and help you with local information on how to get around.
Yet again returned for Morhers Day, and yet again the staff were amazing. On one of probably one of most their busiest days, the restaurant looked amazing. Quick service, which is understandable for the turnover, food was amazing, so well done to the kitchen staff.
Fantastic location, and can’t wait to come back done for the summer and attend other events.
Thank you to all the staff xx
I stayed here for 2 nights and the staff were very accommodating! Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable, (in my 9 year old daughters words "best bed ever') haha. It was a hectic morning as I was getting ready for my wedding, so lots to do, the kids were playing outside and the staff didn't mind. The staff were very lovely, bought more waters and towels for us and was checking all was fine. A very tiny little hiccup as I had no hot water but the staff were very very quick with resolving this issue, allowed us to use another room to shower (which was a blessing, I definitely needed the peace 😂) went for breakfast in the morning with my new husband and the food was lovely 😍 Thank you again
