About This Pub

Ah, The Victoria Park in Bristol – it's one of those spots that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? I've heard from folks that the staff are top-notch, always kind and accommodating, which really makes a difference when you're out for a bite or a pint. The beer garden is hands down a highlight; it's split-level with fabulous views, ideal for chilling with friends on a nice day, and it's family-oriented too, with kids' meals and even welcoming dogs, so it's perfect for a relaxed outing. The food gets plenty of praise, especially their Sunday roasts and that seasonal Afternoon Tea – sounds delicious and just the thing for a treat. But, to keep it real, there was that one review where someone was let down by a roast that didn't match up to past visits, so maybe they've had a wobble or two. Overall, with a solid 4.4 rating, it's a great choice for a casual meet-up or watching the game, just pop in early or book if you're after the full experience without any hitches.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and always so helpful, making you feel right at home even when things get busy.
  • That beer garden is a real gem – split-level with stunning views over Bristol, perfect for a sunny afternoon with mates.
  • The food's spot on, especially the Sunday roasts and that limited-edition Pimm’s Afternoon Tea; it's all about those seasonal flavours that hit the spot.
  • It's super family-friendly with good kids' meals and options for little ones, plus it's dog-friendly so you can bring the furry friends along.
  • A great selection of drinks, including cask ales and cocktails, and they've got loads going on like live sport and weekly events to keep things lively.
Cons
  • There might be some inconsistency with the food quality; one person had a disappointing roast that didn't live up to expectations, so it could vary.
  • It can get quite busy, especially for popular meals like Sunday lunch, which might mean waits if you haven't booked ahead.

Three of us (plus bouncy Cockapoo) went for a Fathers Day lunch at the weekend. It was great. I could see the staff were busy but they were kind and helpful. My husband wanted to change our table and sit outside, as he always does. No problem ☺️. The garden is nice with great views and lots of tables and parasols. Our food was lovely and well cooked. Three roasts! I’ve never been to the Victoria Park before but I will definitely be going ack.

We had a Roast dinner today which was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were delighted especially since we didn’t have a booking. Such a lovely atmosphere inside and out. Highly recommend!

I was last here prior to the pandemic and enjoyed one of the best roasts I have ever had. Something has massively changed here and not for the better. I am not sure whether management has changed, but this roast was the most disappointing roast I’ve ever had. The food arrived less than five minutes after ordering which was a shock. Overcooked beef, raw vegetables and flavourless gravy. Such a shame what has happened to this place. But it still has a phenomenal pub garden!

Great Sunday lunch. Good selection for kids meals. Nice atmosphere Only thing I could say that would improve the experience is if they provided kids cutlery. Other than that is was spit on. We where a large group and everyone left happy, full and satisfied

Went for a pint with local friends, they have a great beer garden which has a view over Bristol. It had a festive menu on, which I had a portion of roast potatoes, with gravy and truffle oil. Gert lush, it was.
