About This Pub
Ah, The Victoria, it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food is where it really shines – think juicy chicken smothered in spicy goodness or creative veggie bites that leave you wanting more, all at prices that won't leave your wallet weeping. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and quick to sort you out, which makes the whole experience feel warm and inviting. That outdoor area is a lovely surprise too, a peaceful little nook where you can kick back and forget the world outside. On the flip side, it's a bit of a letdown that they're shut on Mondays, so if you're after a pint mid-week, you might have to plan around that. And those age limits on weekend nights mean it's more of an adults-only affair after 7pm, which could cramp your style if you've got younger ones in tow. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for pub goers looking for good grub and good times – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, but keep an eye on the hours to make the most of it.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot-on, with creative options for both veggies and meat-eaters that are fresh, flavoursome, and great value for money – it's like a proper treat after a long day.
-
The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, especially that surprising outdoor area where you can unwind without noticing the hustle of the road nearby.
-
Staff are super friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, with excellent service that keeps everyone coming back.
-
Happy hour deals and a solid drinks selection mean it's easy to enjoy a pint or cocktail without breaking the bank.
-
It's conveniently located near Bushey Station, perfect for a quick stop-off whether you're local or just passing through.
Cons
-
It's closed on Mondays, which is a bit of a shame if you're looking for a mid-week unwind.
-
There are age restrictions on Friday and Saturday evenings (21 and over from 7pm), so it might not suit everyone, especially if you're planning a family outing.
-
The opening hours can vary a tad, with earlier starts and finishes on some days, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid disappointment.
