About This Pub
Ah, The Vault in Darlington – what a little hidden gem it is! I have to say, from what I've gathered, it's got this wonderful Prohibition-era theme that really brings the 1920s to life, with dim lighting, quirky decor, and an overall buzz that makes you feel like you're in on some secret adventure. The drinks are a standout; their cocktails are expertly crafted and the selection of wines and ales is spot on for a relaxed catch-up. Plus, the live jazz and other events keep things lively, and it's lovely to see options like board games for a more chilled-out vibe. The staff come across as genuinely warm and attentive, which always makes a big difference on a night out. On the downside, though, the operating hours look a tad messy with conflicting Sunday slots, and without a phone number, it might leave you scratching your head if plans change last minute. Still, with a solid 4.3 rating from folks who've been, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a good time – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're after something with a bit of character, just keep an eye on their website for the latest updates.

Cons
-
The operating hours seem a bit confusing with multiple listings for Sundays, which might make it tricky to plan a visit without double-checking.
-
There's no phone number available, so it could be a hassle if you need to get in touch quickly or confirm details.
-
With only 60 reviews overall, it might not be as well-established as some other spots, so you could be taking a bit of a punt if you're new to the area.

Oh man I love The Vault. Honestly one of the best bars in Darlington. The music is always great with them often having live acts - usually jazz. The atmosphere of the 1920s era prohibition bar is fantastic, staff are great and (if you're in the mood) they even have board games.
10/10 always recommend though last time I enjoyed particularly great service from two of the bar staff with one of them enhancing my negroni with a blood orange gin he personally enjoys in his own negroni
I had bottomless brunch with friends 15/03/25 and it was brilliant - The service was outstanding and the food was very yummy - I’ll be going back!

Great selection of drinks and has its own vibe going on. Excellent cocktails an all if that's what you fancy. I'm a fan, personally.
