About This Pub

Ah, The Underground – it's one of those hidden gems in Bradford that really gets the heart racing for anyone into live music. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place nails the atmosphere with its quirky setup and brilliant sound, making it an absolute treat for gigs and discovering up-and-coming bands. The staff come across as genuinely nice and approachable, which helps create that easy-going, rock bar feel where you can chat, dance, and make new mates without any fuss. It's also a plus that they've got the space sorted, so you're not elbow-to-elbow, and it's heartwarming to see they welcome younger crowds with an adult, giving everyone a chance to dive into the music scene. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – the late opening times can mean hanging about in the chill, and I've heard tales of the staff looking a bit lost or slow on their feet, which might spoil the fun a tad. Then there's the toilets, which sound like they need a bit more attention to keep things hygienic, and the drinks prices might make you think twice if you're after something more budget-friendly. All in all, it's a solid choice for music lovers looking for an authentic night out, but keep in mind those little niggles to manage your expectations – it's got that raw charm, but it's not without its rough edges.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The live music scene is absolutely brilliant – great sound quality and a quirky vibe that makes it perfect for catching bands and discovering new talent.
  • The staff are really welcoming and friendly, creating a casual, dive bar atmosphere that's ideal for making friends, dancing, and soaking up the rock bar energy.
  • It's got plenty of space, which makes it easy to enjoy gigs without feeling cramped, and it's fantastic that they allow younger ones in with an adult to experience live music.
Cons
  • The opening times can be a bit of a hassle, with late starts that might leave you waiting around in the cold, especially for events.
  • The toilets aren't always up to par – sometimes they're messy and lacking basics like soap or hand dryers, which isn't ideal for a night out.
  • Drinks prices feel a touch steep for what you'd expect from a dive bar, and the staff can occasionally seem a bit disorganised or slow, which puts a damper on things.
  • It's only open a couple of days a week, so it might not be as accessible as you'd hope for spontaneous visits.

Great venue and easy to locate but late opening for concert and stood in the cold. Staff seemed confused and slow like it was their first night there. Despite being first in the toilets were a mess. No soap or hand dryers so not hygienic at all. Drink prices reasonable.

A great gig venue, plenty of space and nice staff. Very casual, dive bar/rock bar vibes which are really authentic for the music scene. Really good for finding new bands/artists and making friends, dancing and hanging out. The only downsides are that the drinks are a bit expensive for a dive bar, and the toilets for both genders need sorting out. Apart from that it's wonderful!

The Bradford Underground is an amazing local music venue. It is by far my favourite place to go to catch live music. The atmosphere is always incredible, and the staff is friendly and very welcoming. I love coming here to watch my mates bands play and to discover new local bands. The music scene here is truly one-of-a-kind, and I always leave feeling inspired and energized. I would love to see even bigger artists come to play at The Bradford Underground. Imagine seeing a band like Ice Nine Kills or The Vamps perform in such an intimate setting! It would be an The Bradford Underground is definitely my go-to spot for live music, and you will catch me here as usual! I highly recommend this venue to anyone who loves discovering new music and experiencing the magic of live performances. Thank you, The Bradford Underground, for always delivering an incredible night of music and memories.unforgettable experience. Regardless of who is playing, I know that The Bradford Underground will always deliver an amazing night of live music. Thank you to the staff and everyone who makes this venue such a special place. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Nigel Booth and the in-house team at The Bradford Underground. They always go above and beyond to ensure that everyone has an amazing time at the venue. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the music scene in Bradford! Lastly, I love what they've done with the top part of the venue, where they've created a bar called The Platform Bar. It's a great place to grab a drink and hang out with friends before the gig. The decor is amazing, with band posters and merch on the wall that really add to the atmosphere of the venue. Thank you to The Bradford Underground for always finding ways to make the experience even better! :)

Cracking little venue for live music, and great that they allow 14 years and up in with a adult so the younger ones can see live bands. And support there mates in bands.
