About This Pub

Ah, Dive Bar BD1 – or as some call it, Als – it's this cosy little cocktail bar tucked away on Duke Street in Bradford, and from what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got that real charm that makes you want to pop in for a drink. The cocktails are a highlight; folks are going on about how tasty and well-made they are, and the overall vibe is spot on – think quirky decor, great tunes, and a welcoming feel that just lifts your spirits. The team behind the bar seems top-notch too, always ready with a smile and a chat, which really adds to the fun. But, let's be straight, it's not all perfect; it's only open those late Sunday nights, which might not suit everyone, and there was that one off-putting moment with the doorman that left a bad taste for some. Still, with such a solid rating overall, it's worth a punt if you're in the area and up for a good time – just keep an eye on the details and you'll likely have a cracking evening.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The cocktails are absolutely spot on – reviewers rave about them, like the screwball, making it a top pick for a fun night out.
  • The atmosphere is brilliant; it's got that quirky, inviting vibe that's perfect for unwinding with mates, especially with the excellent music and decor.
  • The staff are fantastic – they're friendly, welcoming, and handle things professionally, which really makes you feel at home.
Cons
  • It's only open on Sundays from 9 PM to 3 AM, which is a bit limiting if you're hoping for more flexible evenings out.
  • There was an unfortunate incident with the doorman making inappropriate comments, which soured the experience for at least one group and might put some off returning.
  • With no website or phone number listed, it's tricky to get more details or plan a visit in advance.

Great atmosphere. Great staff. Scoring 2 stars due to the doorman making some highly inappropriate comments to my friend. Staff handled our complaint extremely professionally. Personally I won't be going back of he's still there

Upon entry I was greeted by a wide mouthed smile from a bearded gentleman who gave me an exceedingly warm welcome and talked me through the drinks menu. The music; excellent. The bar team; magnificent. The decor; sublime. Came now expecting much but had my expectations thoroughly exceeded - fantastic night with fantastic company in a fantastic setting. Would thoroughly recommend Al's Dive Bar to anyone!
