About This Pub

Ah, The Triangle Tavern – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, you know? From what I've gathered from the chatter around, it's got this brilliant range of beers, particularly from the Green Jack Brewery right on site, which makes it a must-visit if you're into your real ales. The atmosphere is spot on too; think cosy nooks for a good chinwag in the front, and a bit more lively setup at the back with music and games – it's versatile like that. In the colder months, that woodburning fire adds such a nice touch, making it feel really inviting. On the flip side, it's not the place for a full meal; you're stuck with snacks or bringing your own, which might be a downside if you're after something more substantial. Overall, it's an inexpensive, straightforward spot that's managed well and has a solid reputation, so if you're in Lowestoft and fancy a relaxed pint with friendly company, I'd say give it a go – but maybe grab some fish and chips on the way!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of real ales, especially from the local Green Jack Brewery – it's a real treat for beer lovers.
  • Lovely traditional atmosphere with a cosy woodburning fire in the winter, making it a welcoming spot for a chat or a quiet pint.
  • Two distinct areas to suit different moods: the front for relaxed conversations and the back for music, entertainment, and even a pool table.
  • No pretensions here – it's a straightforward, friendly local with a strong community vibe, perfect for meeting like-minded folk.
Cons
  • Food options are quite limited, just snacks on offer, so you might need to bring your own or plan to eat elsewhere before popping in.
  • It doesn't have a website, which could make it a bit tricky to check details in advance if you're not already in the area.

Good traditional pub, no airs and graces but offers a good range of real ales including Green Jack's award winning beers.

Great local tavern for real ale lovers, serving ales from the local Green Jack brewery. It's a pub of two halves with the front for drinking & chatting, and music & entertainment at the back. They don't serve food apart from snacks, but they're happy for customers to eat their own food or from the Chinese takeaway next door.

100% positive review.... two bars rear with pool table and music and quieter front bar. Original home to Greenjack brewery. Lovely selection of in house beers.. supported by a really good offering of ciders.. Really pleasant Sunday evening talking with locals and worked slowly through several excellent beers and eventually a pint of Rhubarb Cider. MANY THANKS again for the barmans hospitality. Nick

One of my favourite pubs in Lowestoft. We have a games night here once a month and always head this way after a community meeting too. The woodburning fire in the winter is lovely and warm
