About This Pub

Ah, Flint – it's one of those places that just warms your heart from the moment you step in. From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, the Portuguese cuisine is spot on, with standout dishes like seafood selections and tapas that leave you wanting more, not to mention those incredible handmade desserts that sound like they'd make any pudding lover's day. The staff are proper gems, always friendly and making sure everything runs smoothly, while the courtyard and back garden offer a lovely, chilled-out spot to enjoy a cocktail or sangria. It's got that hidden gem feel in Lowestoft, where you can nip in for a quick bite or linger over dinner. But, on the flip side, it's a bit frustrating that the opening times aren't easy to find, and with no fresh chatter lately, you might find it quieter than expected or even temporarily shut, which could put a damper on spontaneous plans. Overall, if you're after an authentic and welcoming spot for good grub, it's worth keeping an eye on – just check ahead to avoid any letdowns.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious Portuguese dishes like fresh seafood platters, tasty tapas, and those handmade desserts that everyone raves about; it's a real treat for the taste buds.
  • The atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming, with a lovely courtyard and back garden that make you feel right at home, perfect for a chilled-out meal or drinks in the sunshine.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make your visit memorable, whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or a full dinner.
  • It's a hidden gem in Lowestoft, offering something a bit different with happy hour cocktails and sangria that add a fun twist to the experience.
  • Great for various occasions, from a casual breakfast to a lively dinner, and the portions are generous enough to leave you satisfied.
Cons
  • The operating hours aren't clearly listed anywhere, which can make it a bit of a faff to plan a visit and might leave you hanging if you're not sure when it's open.
  • It seems like things have gone a tad quiet lately, with no recent feedback from the last few months, so you might wonder if it's as buzzing as it used to be.
  • The website is pretty basic – just a simple link page without much detail, which doesn't give you a full picture before you head over.
  • Based on what's available, it might be closed at the moment, which is a shame if you're eager to try it out straight away.

We came on a Saturday and the place was just filling up. We sat out in the courtyard, had the mixed grill and some tapas, and happy hour cocktails. Such a chilled out vibe. Was very busy by the time we left. We've been for breakfast before but never for dinner and we would totally come again

Yummy Portuguese food experience! Highly recommend the seafood selection for 2. Sat in the back garden that was a lovely atmosphere with the little green area and the pizza ovens next to us. Amazing selection of handmade desserts too. We had some molotov cake!

Little gem we found on afternoon stroll. Went in for late lunch and was well pleased with what we ordered, thin sliced pork marinated for 24 hours with rice, salad & chips, also lemon chicken with same accompaniments, both were exceptional and we enjoyed them immensely, Flints was that good we went back next day for breakfast and another great meal especially my Portuguese Breakfast, very tasty, even had a beer with it. And now we’re trying to get in for Fathers Day.

Popped in during the afternoon, not expecting much and came away really happy. Really friendly service and it's nice to find something different in Lowestoft. Had a tapas of chorizo, cheese and parma ham and it was ace. Wish I had room for dessert as they looked ace.
