About This Pub
Ah, JOJO's Kitchen & Bar – it's one of those places that just warms you up from the inside out, isn't it? Picture this: you're settling in at a table in this historic part of High Street, tucking into some seriously delicious comfort food like their hand-pressed steak burgers or that mouthwatering Southern fried chicken. The sisters who run it have really nailed the atmosphere too, with a relaxed feel and some cracking country tunes playing in the background, making it ideal for a laid-back evening with friends. And the drinks? Their craft cocktails and selection of wines and beers are spot on, carefully chosen to complement everything. Plus, it's heartening to know they're supporting local suppliers for their fresh produce – that kind of effort makes the whole experience feel even more special. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect; the prices can sting a bit, especially if you're going all out, and with only a few days open each week, you might find yourself disappointed if you fancy a spontaneous visit. I've heard a couple of tales about sides like chips being overdone, which is a pity when the mains are so brilliant. Still, overall, if you're after a memorable night of good food and great company, I'd say give JOJO's a go – it's got that genuine charm that keeps you coming back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – those hand-pressed burgers and Southern-style fried chicken are packed with flavour and feel like a proper treat.
-
It's got a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with great country music, making it a brilliant spot for a catch-up with mates.
-
The service is top-notch; the staff are friendly and attentive, really adding to the overall experience.
-
They source everything locally from small businesses, which means you're getting fresh, high-quality grub and supporting the community at the same time.
-
The cocktails and drinks menu is fantastic, with award-winning options that pair perfectly with the meals.
Cons
-
It can be a bit on the pricey side, so you might want to check your budget before heading in, as meals add up quickly.
-
The opening hours are quite limited, only open a few days a week, which means you'll have to plan your visit around that.
-
Some dishes, like the chips, have been overcooked in a few experiences, which is a shame when the rest is so good.
-
Takeaways don't always hit the mark compared to eating in, so it's best enjoyed on-site if you can.

Ordered a takeaway and the burgers were ok but the chips that were best part of £10 per portion were overcooked, the toppings were also overcooked. We spent over £70 and left disappointed.
Great food. Can be a bit pricey but find it's worth it. We normally order but went in with a mate. Served by Shelby. Was great service and felt terrible as couldn't give her a tip as couldn't do it by card so will take cash next time. American food and country music and great service winning combination.
Second time we have visited since the reopening. Food was fantastic as always. Justina was our server and we were extremely impressed with her timing. Everything from taking the orders, receiving the food and drinks, was spot on! She knew exactly who ordered what, without having to ask. Well done to all of you! Look forward to seeing you soon.
We visit family in Lowestoft every few months and JOJO's is one of the things we really look forward to! The fried chicken is the best chicken I've had and beats any other food chain... the fully loaded chips are delicious and burger is one of the best we've had!! Highly recommend!!!
Delicious food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. A lot of choice for food, drinks and desserts. Amazing cocktails, coffees and freak shakes which can be enjoyed outside; ideal for those hot days where you need to be in the sun with a cocktail in hand. Pay them a visit, you'll love it!
