About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about Marilyn's – it's one of those unassuming spots on the High Street in Lowestoft that really delivers when it comes to a proper good time. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the food is spot on; folks are raving about the homemade dishes like the mac and cheese or that unbeatable £5 three-course meal, which sounds like a steal and leaves you properly satisfied. The staff come across as genuinely warm and chatty, making it feel like you're among friends rather than just another face in the crowd. And if you're up for a laugh, their events like pub quizzes and drag-aoke add a fun twist that could make any evening memorable. On the flip side, it's still flying a bit under the radar with only a few reviews, so it might not have the same level of polish or variety you'd find in busier places. Plus, without a website, sorting out the details in advance can be a faff, and its location might not suit everyone if you're not local. All in all, though, if you're after a relaxed spot with top grub and a welcoming feel, I'd say give Marilyn's a go – it's got that homely charm that's hard to beat.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious and homemade – think hearty Sunday roasts, mac and cheese, and veg soup that hit the spot every time.
  • Incredible value for money, like that £5 three-course meal that's a real bargain and leaves you feeling chuffed.
  • The staff are super friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with mates.
  • They've got fun events on offer, such as pub quizzes and drag-aoke nights, which add a lively buzz to the place.
Cons
  • With only a handful of reviews out there, it might not be the most well-known spot yet, so you could be taking a bit of a punt if you're new to the area.
  • No website means it's a tad tricky to look up the menu or upcoming events before heading over.
  • Being tucked away in Lowestoft, it might not be the easiest for folks from further afield to pop in regularly.

Love coming to Marilyn’s! The Sunday roast dinner is amazing as is the £5 3 course meal - excellent value for money, delicious food and great service. Marilyn’s is our first choice for a roast dinner and I recommend them to everyone. We want to start coming to the dragaoke and pub quiz nights too 🥰
