About This Pub
You know, when you step into The Travellers Rest, it's got that warm, homely feel that's just right for unwinding with friends or family. The staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel right at home from the get-go, which really sets the tone for a great visit. The food's a highlight – we've got everything from tasty burgers and roasts to kids' options that are both fun and award-winning, and those deals like 2 for 1 on Thursdays make it even better value. Pair that with a wide range of drinks, including some top-notch beers and cocktails, and you're sorted for the evening. The beer garden is something special, with its countryside views and family-friendly touches like the bouncy castle, making it ideal for sunnier days. It's also dog-friendly in the snug and lounge areas, which is a nice bonus if you're out for a walk. On the flip side, it does get quite lively during events or peak times, so you might find it a tad crowded if you're after a quiet spot. And while the menu's solid on classics, it might not have the variety for those seeking something a bit more exotic. All in all, it's a solid choice for pub goers looking for good vibes, decent grub, and that community spirit – I'd say give it a try if you're in the area.

It's super family-friendly and dog-friendly in certain areas, which makes it ideal for a day out with the family or your four-legged friend.
Cons

It can get a bit bustling on busy days, like Thursdays with the specials or during events, so you might have to wait for a table.

Visit the Travellers every couple of weeks, generally on a Thursday and always impressed. Staff are just lovely and welcoming every time and the food is spot on. If you go in a Thursday when it’s 2 for 1 on selected mains and buy 2 large glasses of wine get the rest of the bottle free it’s very reasonably priced.
Called in after a walk and was glad we did. Good varied menu but we ordered from the lunch menu. I got the turkey roast dinner and partner got soup and lasagne. Tasty, hot and great value for money. Great service from friendly staff. Really enjoyed it and will go again.
Tough decision on Wye Valley Hereford Pale Ale or Timmy Taylor Landlord; so had one of each. Massive beer garden with countryside views including spring lambs. Reaper burger really isn’t hot so don’t be scared of it. Large car park, or on bus route, or loads of footpaths to access here.
Came today for the first time
It's a beautiful pub with views over the country side
Had the cheese and bacon burger although I was torn between different options as that all sound amazing. There is also a lunch menu avaliable 12til 3
Plenty of drink options including cocktails
There is plenty of parking to the rear and disabled bays at the front
There are different seating areas to choose from including a large elevated deck to suit any mood there is disability access through all areas
It is a place that can be easily passed though as it is tucked away and main entrance is at the side
The staff are cheerful, friendly, helpful and attentive
There is a quiz night on Wednesdays and they have entertainment from time to time
Tried here today for the first time, and had Sunday lunch. It was delicious! Lovely food, great kids menu, reasonable prices, and the benefit of a stunning beer garden with a bouncy castle for our daughter. We will be back. What a hidden gem!
