About This Pub

Ah, The Tipsy Bird – it's one of those places in Belfast that just draws you in with its quirky charm and vibrant energy. From what I've gathered from chats and reviews, the staff are absolute stars; they're warm, knowledgeable, and always up for a laugh, whether you're there for a simple pint or diving into one of their cocktail masterclasses. The drinks are a real highlight – think delicious cocktails that you can tweak to your taste, paired with live music and fun events that make every visit feel special. It's especially brilliant for a group do, like a hen party or that bottomless brunch everyone's raving about; the atmosphere gets you in the mood for good times straight away. On the other hand, it's not all smooth sailing – a few people have had issues with bookings not going to plan or the bar shutting early, which can be a bit of a letdown on a Saturday night out. And let's not forget the odd draft that might leave you shivering. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable evening, but I'd say it's worth keeping an eye on the details to avoid any surprises. If you're heading to Belfast, give it a go and see for yourself – it's got that mix of fun and flaws that makes it feel real.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • They've got an amazing selection of cocktails and drinks that are spot on, with classics and custom options that hit the mark every time.
  • The live music and events, such as drag brunches and cocktail masterclasses, create a lively and entertaining vibe that's perfect for a night out.
  • It's a fantastic spot for group gatherings, like hen parties or bottomless brunches, with a quirky atmosphere that keeps things upbeat and enjoyable.
Cons
  • There can be occasional hiccups with bookings, like tables not being ready when expected, which might put a dampener on your plans.
  • The bar has been known to close unexpectedly at times, even on busy nights, which feels a bit frustrating when you're in the mood for a drink.
  • Some folks have mentioned drafts from the door that can make it a tad chilly, especially on cooler evenings in Belfast.

Exceptionally friendly atmosphere and staff! Lovely cold pint of Guinness. The manager went out of his way to ensure we had a good night. Would highly recommend

I visited here with a group of girls as we were at a hen party. We had booked the cocktail class and the server was very friendly and informative, we all had a fab time

Can't comment on the food, service or atmosphere because we didn't stay. We'd booked a table for a hen party, with a £10 per head reserve. We arrived and the table wasn't ready. We tried to order drinks but we're told the bar was closed for 15 minutes (who does that at 9pm on a Saturday 🤷‍♀️). Tried again 15 minutes later and were told it would be another 20 minutes as they were still cleaning the bar. I've never known a pub or bar to close for over half an hour in the middle of probably one of their busiest shifts. We left and went elsewhere.

I recently took the cocktail masterclass, and it was such a great experience! Curtis, our instructor, was absolutely amazing. He really knew his stuff and made the whole process so fun and easy to follow. What I loved most was how Curtis helped us tweak the recipes to suit our tastes. For example, I wasn’t a fan of how sour the martini was at first, but he showed me how to adjust it, and it turned out perfect! The vibe was super chill and fun, and Curtis made sure everyone was having a great time while learning some pretty cool cocktail tips and tricks. If you’re looking for something fun to do, I’d 100% recommend this class. It’s a great mix of learning, laughs, and, of course, delicious drinks!

The only downside was that draft from the front door, apart from that nice little quirky bar, good beer selection. Good singer on as well. Would definitely call in again
