About This Pub
Oh, The Three Tuns – it's one of those spots that feels like a proper old-school pub, tucked away in Bristol, and I've got to say, when it's good, it's really good. The selection of beers and ales is spot on, always changing up to give you something new to try, and those cosy areas make it just the ticket for a laid-back evening with mates. Plus, the music adds a fun touch that keeps the energy up. But, and I hate to say it, there are times when the staff can be a bit sharp or off-putting, which has led to some folks cutting their visit short – stories of rude behaviour and even dodgy drinks like soapy cider are a bit of a downer. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's worth popping in if you're in the area, just go in with an open mind and hope for one of their better days. All in all, it's a gem for beer lovers, but keep an eye out for the occasional slip-up to make sure your night goes smoothly.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer and ale selection is fantastic, with a great variety that's regularly rotated to keep things fresh and exciting.
-
It's got that lovely traditional pub atmosphere, complete with cosy spots like the sofa area that's perfect for a relaxed chat.
-
Some of the staff are really friendly and welcoming, making for a brilliant night out, especially with the great session music on offer.
-
They can host private parties, which is ideal if you're planning a get-together with friends in a proper pub setting.
Cons
-
A few reports of rude staff, particularly the bar manager, which can really spoil the mood and lead to an uncomfortable visit.
-
Drink quality isn't always up to scratch – like that cider tasting off, which has put some people off returning.
-
No options for zero or low alcohol drinks, which is a bit disappointing if you're looking for something lighter.
-
Service can be hit or miss, with some experiences leaving you wanting to walk out rather than stick around.

Great night out, very friendly young barman, forgotten name but he works Mondays.
Great session music will return
Shockingly rude bar manager and the cider tasted like soap.
Not going back there in a hurry. Staff seemed scared of the manager.
Would have stayed as en route but didn't even finish the drinks we bought. A dozen of us walked out because the manager was so rude.
Hadn’t been here for a while and won’t hurry back. No zero/ low alcohol cider available. Extremely rude bar staff. Wanted to give her the benefit of having an off day, but looking through the other reviews, looks like it’s a regular occurrence- avoid.
Fab little traditional pub not too far from the centre and the docks. Good selection of beers and can host private parties.
Nice pub with a good selection of beers and ales that are regularly rotated. We were a bit unsure at first that it looked ropey but definitely worth the visit. Staff were friendly and the pub had a good bit of personality to it. Nice little sofa area around the back that was cosy and we didn’t try the Tex Mex tapas but it’s a good idea.
