About This Pub

Ah, chatting about The Botanist in Bristol, it's this delightful spot tucked away in Berkeley Square that really captures that country pub essence while being bang in the city centre. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, it's brilliant for unwinding with a refreshing pint or glass of wine after a day out, and the food is spot on – think hearty classics and fresh seasonal dishes that pair perfectly with their wide range of drinks. The outdoor courtyard is an absolute gem for soaking up the sun, and it's ace for families or marking special occasions with its cosy, contemporary decor. On the downside, though, service can be a mixed bag; some visits are seamless with cheerful staff, but others might find it a tad slow or not quite as attentive, which could put a small kink in your evening. Overall, with such a strong rating, it's a place I'd recommend giving a go – just keep expectations realistic for a relaxed pub experience rather than lightning-fast service.

We’ve been a few times here and celebrated many milestones and anniversaries such as my dads birthday, my mum’s and Mother’s Day. Such good atmosphere and vibe, amazing service especially from Fenita and Mia, and such a wide range of delicious food options. We are always happy to return!

A trendy restaurant with a large outdoor seating area. Lovely decor and comfy seating in the restaurant. Staff were friendly but not attentive. It's a nice menu, especially chef specials. A wide selection on the drinks menu. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice except for the constant drone of pop music. The Pub is part of a chain, so you can download an app and collect points for freebies. The toilets looked nice but were not clean. Not accessible due to steep stone. No parking.

We had a pleasant dinner here, we had the scallops and fish which was delicious. We also had cocktails which we all enjoyed. The atmosphere was perfect, while it had ambient lighting, above our table there was a spotlight which was perfect for my grandmother. Overall a very nice experience.

Amazing bottomless brunch at the Botanist. Starter and main, plus a range of cocktails and Prosecco included at a very reasonable price. Our food arrived quickly and the place had a warm ambience. Shout-out to our server Sophie who was courteous and efficient and ensured that we had a wonderful experience. Thank you.

Visited The Botanist in Bristol for Christmas Eve dinner and had a generally pleasant experience. The restaurant itself is quite good—lovely ambiance with a charming, festive atmosphere. The food was well-prepared, nicely presented, and of good quality, though the delivery was on the slower side. Still, for a special occasion like Christmas Eve, the effort in the presentation made it worth the wait. The staff, while polite enough, didn’t seem particularly enthusiastic or engaged. It felt like they were just going through the motions, which took away from the otherwise good vibe of the place. One thing to watch out for is the additional charges. The prices seemed fair at first glance, but there were some hidden charges added to the bill, which left a sour note at the end of the meal. Transparency here could definitely be improved. Overall, I’d rate it 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a nice place to try, and I would recommend it for the food and ambiance. However, I’m not sure I’d return personally. If you’re looking for somewhere to dine in Bristol, The Botanist is worth a visit, but just keep an eye on the bill.
