About This Pub

Ah, The Hope & Anchor – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles on a lazy afternoon in Bristol. I have to say, the Sunday roasts steal the show; they're hearty, delicious affairs with generous servings that won't break the bank, and honestly, they're some of the best I've tried around here. The staff are lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, while the beer garden is an absolute gem – a sunny haven with comfy spots that make it ideal for whiling away the hours with friends. It's got that classic pub charm with a great range of beers, including some cracking local ones, and the vibes are just right for a relaxed get-together. On the downside, though, it's a bit of a faff not having a website to quickly look up details, and the opening times can seem a touch muddled, so you might want to plan ahead to avoid any surprises. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after good food, good drinks, and good company without any pretence – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go!

Wow what can I say, we had the most amazing Sunday roast. Huge portions, fantastic value and most importantly, everything was utterly delicious. The new owners have done an incredible job on the pub, it’s so cosy and the beer garden has to be one of the nicest in Bristol. Great food, great pints and great people. Can’t wait to come back!

Great atmosphere in a traditional pub! Love the decor, the staff are super friendly and the roast was delicious. The belly pork just melted in your mouth. A great selection of different vegetables. With cauliflower & broccoli cheese and a large extra jug of gravy coming as standard. High recommend 👌🏻👏🏻

Great selection of beers, had new Bristol brewery duvet vous, the front catches the sun if the weather is good, if you're in your 20s and 30s you probably want to go to the massive multi level beer garden at the back and hang out in the shade, who needs vitamin d at that age😎
