About This Pub

Ah, The Temple Bar in Norwich is one of those pubs that just feels like a warm hug on a chilly evening, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this lovely Irish-inspired flair with a great mix of drinks on tap, and the homecooked food, particularly those Sunday roasts, has folks coming back for more – think generous portions with veg, cauliflower cheese, and all the trimmings that make a meal feel special. The staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's sorted, which really adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Plus, with things like pool, darts, and live sports on offer, it's brilliant for a group of us to kick back and have a laugh. On the flip side, it does get packed, especially for those popular roasts, so you might end up queuing or waiting a tad longer than you'd like, and occasionally, a dish might not quite hit the mark with a missing ingredient or two. Overall, though, it's a dependable choice for us pub lovers – affordable, family-friendly, and just a short stroll from town – so I'd say it's well worth popping in for a pint and seeing what all the fuss is about.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, including real ales and a good variety of keg options, perfect for a proper pint.
  • The homecooked meals are a real treat, especially those Sunday roasts – they're hearty, tasty, and great value for money.
  • It's got loads of fun amenities like pool tables, darts, and live sports, so there's always something to keep the evening buzzing.
  • The place is spacious with plenty of seating and a lovely beer garden, ideal for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at times, which means you might have to wait a bit for service or a table, especially on Sundays.
  • Some dishes might miss a few extras, like the stuffing in the roast, so it's not always picture-perfect.
  • The pub isn't claimed by the owners online, which could mean things like updates or improvements might not happen as quickly as we'd hope.

Surprised to find a late night boozer in Norwich on a Monday but glad we did find it! As the name would suggest, it has an Irish pub flavour to the place, but there's a decent variety of keg ales on tap. There's a pool table and it's a roomy place so there's plenty of seating, if you like a seat.

Lovely roast, came with veg, cauliflower cheese and extra gravy! Was our second week in a row going to temple bar for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic both times! The only thing missing was a bit of stuffing… but apart from that an amazing roast at a great price too!
