About This Pub

Ah, the Georgian Townhouse in Norwich is one of those hidden gems that really pulls you in with its relaxed charm and welcoming feel. I have to say, the staff stand out a mile – they're so attentive and friendly, like chatting with old mates, which makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable. The place has this lovely Georgian style with comfortable rooms and a spacious garden that's just ace for sipping on one of their popular spritzes during the warmer months. Their roasts are generally a solid choice, with good-sized portions and flavours that hit the spot, especially if you're after a hearty Sunday treat. But on the flip side, things like the roasties aren't always as crispy as they'd be in my ideal pub meal, and the Yorkshire puddings can sometimes fall a bit flat, which is a shame when the rest is so inviting. Still, it's a brilliant spot for catching up with friends, hosting a get-together, or even nabbing a room for a short stay, and at that price point, it's worth giving it a go if you're in the area. Overall, it's got that perfect mix of comfort and character, even if the kitchen could tweak a few things to make it even better.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant, always friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the get-go.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with charming Georgian interiors and a lovely walled garden that's perfect for a relaxing drink or meal.
  • They serve up some cracking roasts with generous portions and tasty options like lovely pork, which feels like great value for a Sunday unwind.
  • It's a versatile spot, ideal for events, parties, or even a stay in their comfortable rooms and apartments, blending pub vibes with a bit of homely comfort.
Cons
  • Some of the food elements, like the roasties, can be a bit soft and not as crispy as you'd hope for a proper pub grub experience.
  • The Yorkshire puddings and other bits might not always live up to expectations, leaving you wishing for a tad more polish on the plate.
  • Overall, the food has room for improvement in places, as it's been mentioned it could be better despite the generous servings.

Ellie Tolla and barman Noah were wonderful, attentive and friendly. Roast was mid- good portion size and lovely pork, roasties weren't crisp, not really sure what the Yorkshire puddings were. Quite nice for the price though

One of my go-to places for a carvery or roast dinner! The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind on a Sunday. The service is fantastic—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. And the food? Absolutely spot on! The roast is always cooked to perfection, with generous portions, and rich, flavourful gravy. Highly recommend it! 🍽️✨

Food needs improvement. But Ellie was the best server in the joint, she made the experience so memorable. We felt right at home, almost curled up in a ball under the complimentary blankets.

My wife and I came here for our 7th Anniversary, having also gotten married here. It was a magic occasion then and TGT gets even better with time. Izzie helped make it extra special with a bottle of bubbly sent to our room, which itself was a complimentary upgrade. We had a fabulous time and the roast rump of beef was absolutely delicious. Everyone should get married here!
