About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Swan Inn – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a proper meal out. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the food is a real standout; people rave about the carvery, with its tasty roasts and sides like dauphinoise potatoes, and even the steaks and desserts get high praise for being home-cooked and full of flavour. The staff sound like absolute gems, always polite and accommodating, especially with larger groups or special occasions, which makes it ideal for family gatherings or celebrations. It's kept nice and clean too, so you can relax in a pleasant setting without any fuss. On the flip side, it's so popular that snagging a table can be tricky, and there's that little niggle about the plates not being up to par, which might just mean they're a tad underwhelming for such hearty meals. All in all, if you're after a solid pub experience with great grub and a welcoming vibe, this one's worth a visit – just book early to avoid disappointment!

Cons

There was a minor grumble about the plates in one review, which might mean they're not quite up to scratch for serving up those generous portions.

Good all round, very polite and friendly service.
Food was very nice and also home cooked (always a plus).
Beef Bourguinon pie with mash and mixed veg.
Trillionaire tart and sticky chocolate orange cake with pouring cream for desserts.
This is hands down by far the best carvery I have ever had! We try book in whenever we can, which is hard because its obviously popular! We travel nearly 30 mins for this carvery and those dauphinoise! Staff are lovely, reasonably priced for the quality of food, if i had to say one thing.. the plates are way too small, I know you have to be careful when putting on quality homemade food and i dont mean they are small in a greedy way, they really are that small that you cant fit anything on and you have to pile the food on your plate which i personally hate doing because after meat and couple potatoes there is no room but it wont stop me going!
After 10 years visiting Bromsgrove decided to try this lovely place for a meal, we were a fairly large group with varying requirements and needs, the staff were amazing, polite and accommodating. The place was clean and pleasantly quite, and the food was amazing, One of the nicest cooked steaks I have had in a long time.
All our group had empty plates at then end of the meal and we were never rushed or felt pressured to hurry and leave.
I rarely leave reviews because I never find places that are beyond average, The Swan Inn is well above average, Highly recommend and will be returning when we are down in Bromsgrove again next April. Thank you for the service.
We have been regulars here for a while, for family meals, special celebrations, and down to just fancying a roast (But not wanting to cook,) and I can honestly say, it is the best carvery I have ever eaten. We visited today for a special family meal, and were so impressed by the lovely environment The Swan had to offer. Our server was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she also quickly resolved an issue we had with our meal, as well as the food being outstanding as always. I believe the waitress’ name was Meg. We were seated downstairs on a larger round booth. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert but the new menu looks very good, and we wish to try it on our next visit. We look forward to another meal at The Swan, and we very much hope, we get the lovely waitress again.
Lovely place. This was the first time I'd been, we had a birthday celebration with a fairly large group of 20 of us. We had a mix of carvery and off the menu. Both were delicious. The menu food came out promptly so they weren't waiting whilst the carvery people were sorted. The staff were brilliant and kept checking for drinks. And everything was so well organised to clear away and get puddings out. Would absolutely recommend having a meal here
