About This Pub
Ah, Hanbury Turn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper British gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place really shines with its wide range of top-quality real ales, all brewed with a nod to tradition and served by staff who are genuinely chuffed to chat about their favourites. It's got that inviting, homely feel with log fires crackling away, making it ideal for a cosy night in or catching up over a drink. And if you're passing through and need a kip, the rooms upstairs sound like a treat – clean, comfortable, and with little touches like fresh tea and a good shower that make you feel looked after. On the downside, it's not the easiest spot to reach if you're hopping off the train, and some of the grub might leave you thinking it's a bit steep for the portion. Still, with such high praise from folks who've visited, it's clear this is a solid choice for anyone after an authentic pub experience without the frills – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, especially if you're a fan of a good ale!

Very welcoming reception from the manager Gary. Staying the night on a business trip and the room is ideal and really comfortable. Service at the bar was friendly, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Highly recommend the Hanbury Turn to any passers by and for an overnight stay. Gary kindly recommended a nearby pub for food and the pizza trailer in the garden. The pizzas look really good, but I opted for pub food a 5 minute walk away. Thank you!
A bit of a walk from the train station, but you can get a bus straight here.
I had a Sunburst IPA and scratchings for £5.40. Very good ale, but I thought that the scratchings were a little expensive.
Look forward to returning and enjoying a quality ale with a cob hopefully in the small garden, weather permitting
Great choices of Ales and ciders. An outside seating area and newly refurbished.
There are freshly made cobs and home made corned beef pie.
There is a dart board and really friendly staff too. Knowledgeable on the ales for sure.
Plenty of places to sit and good Covid Procedures.
In the winter there is an open fire too.
Well worth a visit for sure.
