About This Pub

Ah, The Sussex Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Twickenham. From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, the beer selection is absolutely brilliant, with a wide range of cask ales and guest brews that really stand out; it's no wonder it's picked up those CAMRA awards. The food's another highlight – think mouthwatering Sunday roasts with all the trimmings or a solid burger that hits the spot after a long day. That beer garden is a real treat on a sunny afternoon, and with a play area for the little ones, it's spot on if you're out with family. The staff are always chipping in with a smile and quick service, making it easy to settle in for the evening. On the flip side, it does get packed, especially near match times, so you might find yourself jostling for space or dealing with a more boisterous crowd. And while it's lovely being so kid-friendly, that might not be everyone's cup of tea if you're hoping for a quieter pint. All in all, it's a solid choice for a fun get-together, but it's worth popping in at a quieter time if you fancy a more laid-back chat with mates.

Cons
  • It can get quite busy, especially on match days or during events, which might make it feel a bit overwhelming

The Sussex Arms is a fantastic spot for a lively night out. The live music was top-notch, adding to the buzzing and welcoming atmosphere. It was busy, but in the best way—plenty of energy without feeling overcrowded. I ordered a burger with pulled pork and chips, and it did not disappoint. The burger was juicy, the pulled pork added a rich, smoky flavor, and the chips were perfectly crispy. A great combo for a proper pub meal! If you're looking for a place with great food, live music, and a friendly crowd, The Sussex Arms is definitely worth a visit.

Excellent roast before the rugby, staff were super, found me even though I gave the wrong table number (thanks Daniella!). Excellent selection of ales, lagers and ciders. Would recommend 😎Super dog friendly as well!

I love this pub!! I’ve been coming here on my London holidays since 2011. The staff is excellent. Daniella and Paul have been amazing this week. Paul even tapped my favourite porter from Titanic (plum porter). I’m here once a year and wouldn’t have cask ale anywhere else in Twickenham.

good music and pretty big beer garden; out of the food options I’d recommend the pork bao buns, they were really nice the vibe is okay, but keep in mind the garden is very kid-friendly which is obviously good for some people but maybe not so great for others!

Beat ever cask ale variety than you could ever imagine and all kept in best condition. Selection of Big Smoke Brewery beers alongside guests from all over the UK. Heritage interior which catch my eyes, family beer garden to rear as well as at the front. Full food menu available. Beat service and great staff team. Worth to visit if really like cask ales and ciders.
